I dropped something in the not so dry foot well that required noting on the video, not proud of it! The area is Choptank river near Cambridge,MD. There is a terrific ramp and 6 of them so getting in is relatively painless, except stepping the mast

What did you have trouble with in stepping the mast ? I do mine by myself with no trouble.... I do it backwards from most people but i find it's easier that way.

What do you mean by "backwards?" Isn't there only one way to step the mast? Mechanically speaking?

I leave the forestay attached all the time. I loosen the turnbuckle 10 turns and tighten it back after the shrouds are connected. By doing it "backwards" I'm standing higher up, on the bow instead of in the cockpit. (works for me )

Joe, I have been leaving the shrouds attached during trailering and putting the mast on an extended mast crutch, attaching block to forestay plate and with line from forestay to block and back to jib sheet cam lock. I pull the line and push the mast up. works ok, getting forestay connected to plate is the issue and keeping the mast vertical, so far I have had help to hold the mast. I may try your method but I will need quick fastening cotter pins instead of ss coil pins, they are not easy!

Wow. You had me holding my breath as you knelt to connect the starboard stay. I couldn't do this with my hobiecat let alone my M25. Kudos to you!

I wouldn't do it on a 25 !

It's not that hard as long as you have good balance. The quick pins do make it easier, but even with no pin at all, after the first shroud is connected you can pull tight to the other side and as long as there is tension on the pin it's not going to come out. So then you can get the other side connected without worry.
