Any Sailing Planned in the Marco Island area this weekend?

Post by 72Mac22 »

Looks like I will be flying into the Marcos Island airport Saturday and will be staying through around Tuesday. Is anyone in need of another crewmember or two for a short sail for this weekend? It would be myself and possibly my copilot. We are easy going and would just love the opportunity to enjoy the experience. I am a novice but I am sure I could be of some help. Looks like Saturday might be rainy but Sunday is looking OK. Thought I would just take a stab in the dark. It's cold and snowy here in Kansas so the warm Florida wx will be nice, a sail would be even better! Thanks!

Chad, you must be flying in 4 sheets to the wind as there is no Airport on Marco Island, FL.

Yes, the only way to land there would be to have floats on the airplane. The Marco Island airport is about 4 miles NE of the Island. Sounds like we have some golfers that want to get out of the cold for awhile.

Dave, there is a little airport up on the mainland (behind Hammock Shores just off collier blvd before you get to the bottom) that is owned or operated by the municipality named "the city of marco island", not named because it's on the island named "marco island"...
