Water line strip on V222
Looking for ideas. My boat has a heavy blue vinyl tape, likely by Macgregor, which is 3 in wide for a water line strip. This strip was sort of painted over with white and a red light weight vinyl tape striping pattern laid on by a PO. The red tape is falling off and the blue is slightly damaged. My options seem to be either remove the red tape (easy) as well as the paint and glue (hard) OR remove everything and clean to original gelcoat (hard as it took me 1/2 day to do the stern ready for paint). The slowest part of the latter option is to remove the adhesive residue which is quite thick. I have tried varsol, acetone and gasoline without much success as these soften but do not remove the adhesive whereas the as is adhesive can be scraped but oh so slowly. ANY IDEAS ?

Try "GooGone"
I like the large spray bottle (about $7 @ home depot)
Let it sit on the glue awhile. Works great on many adhesives.
Best Breezes,
