Greatings from the Great White Okanagan and
Happy New Year.
Well, I've been haunting this group for 6 months now, and I've finally got up the nerve to ask a quick question. As I am somewhat snowbound, although, Okanagan Lake ain't frozen, I am getting my fix mod'ing my wee boat. Having eyeballed Commodore Beane's work and many thanks to Mike Cantwell(sp?), I am now at the point where new elect. distribution panels are in, new CD/mp3 machine, LED lighting fore and aft, new spinnaker halyard, self-tailers on the main winches, oldies moved to the combing for the genny sheets. OK, the list goes on and on, SORRY!!

Needless to say the cabin is looking a little "holy" and needs a few plugs.
Is my best bet to order them from Uncle Bill or are there other somewhat more expedient sources??

Oh, and kind regards to Captain Jack in Aussie, I see he's off line for a while, lucky b__ger must be sailing his arse off.

I ordered mine direct from the manufacturer - Heyco. I'm not allowed to post a web address here, but you can look them up online if you add the standard suffix to the name.

You are right, it is sailing season down under so at the moment I am carrying out running repairs and compiling a mods list for the winter lay up. I will be back mid year with a few more mods.

Check with BWY http://bwyachts.com/ They should have them. I bought some from the factory and they came white. But it does look better than the holes.

Bob: Wouldn't want to bore folks with some rehashed mod's but I believe that being a typical engineer, I have a couple of unique ones to add to the pot. When the weather changes I shall endeavour to take some pic's. That will be my next "new" thing for this web site.

So Jack, how's the weather down-under. I worked for P&O, out of Vancouver for about 5 years. Met lots of you fellers, over that time,and they all seemed to be sailors. Now what's up with that, eh?

Our local hardware store (Home depot, lowes etc) usually have a great selection of plastic hole plugs in varied sizes and colors. (White too. They will plug holes faster than blue ones)

Ralph, the snow's really just arrived.
But it's great. My son's up today.
It's clear on the Lake here and the thermometer says +2!!

Yeah, I keep trying to find them in our local HD/L but they never seem to have the two sizes needed for the Mac. *sigh*

Thanks MacShales - FWIW, I don't think there's an entry for aft-mounted winches on an M (seen it on an X, though). I'd be interested in seeing your installation. Been thinking about that myself.

When I pull the tarp off after this bout of white stuff, I'll do some photos and include that in the Mod sections. Mike Cantwell helped me with my outhaul mod and while we were chatting he showed me his mounting for the winches. Sooo, I can't really take credit. I did make a slightly different backing piece inside for reinforcement from some UHMW plastic. That worked well.

The local PNW dealer Gerry Berg has them (white ones), he is now in Maple Ridge. If you plan on attending any of the two upcomming boat shows you might arrange to have a dealer bring some to the show. BWY sells the paint touch up kits for coloring the caps with.
