Shipping boat and need help w/ dimensions

My family and I are moving to Alaska in July and the Air Force is helping me ship my Macgregor 26x. I was hoping people could help me with the dimensions. I do not want to pull the boat out of our slip just to measure the thing then put it back. I need total length with trailer, width, & height ...

Re: lots of new mods to my 26x

Took the boat out this weekend for my 12 yo daughter's b-day. It was 4 girls and my wife and I (6 total). It was a bit tight but we had fun. We did not sail at all, we just went out to a cove and BBQ and they swam in the water a little. The only problem I ran into is that all the wood on the port si...

Re: Moving to AK drive or ship my 26x?

Thanks everyone. If I can get a shipper below $3000 then i am in. If not then I will have a second axle installed and go for it. I am in the Air Force so they will ship one vehicle from Dallas for free. So we will have my '07 diesel truck and boat, wife's '07 jeep with car dolly and 2007 for focus, ...

Moving to AK drive or ship my 26x?

My family and I are moving from San Antonio, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska this July. It is about 4300 miles. I am trying to figure out whether to ship my Mac26x or have another axle installed and drive it all the way. Does anyone have any experience with shipping companies to use or avoid? I really do...

Re: How far is too far

speaking of reefing, does anyone have a pic or diagram of how the reefing lines go? Mine were all undone when I bought her. Also where do the front sail lines go? I just run them throught the pulley things all the way back to back cleats. Don't the go through the winch things up that go click,click,...

How far is too far

I am new to sailing, I started out at local lake that is very small and has been great learning how to sail. the other day we had some high winds that my wife and I were keen to try out. A couple of times we were leaning way over and it seems a little scary, what is to far? We were close to the &quo...

I was going to put one of the canvas tops but I needed a place for my solar units. Plus I needed some good shade in this texas heat. My cover costs where $300 in supplies.

My genoa cover rope broke and I am to lazy to pull the mast down, I have it in a slip. Thought I would send my skinny 14 year old up there to feed it through. Looks like I will have to pull her down.
