Clearance when towing under bridges

I have a 2006 Macgregor M and need to know what clearance is required when towing the boat under low bridges. I am also having a shed made and can design the door height to clear the boat with the mast set for towing You may ask why I don’t measure this ? – The boat is in the water until Easter Any ...

A liitle Feedback with respect to the MAC Bump

On an earlier post I asked the question about the Gap after having retrieved the boat on the trailer. Thanks everybody for your inputs. This last weekend I retrived the boat and did end up with some problems. As I had indicated before the boat is antifouled - but is clean I used washing up liquid on...

Custom Steering Arm

I have been looking at the picture of the Quick Release steering arm provided by Bluewater Yachts and wanted to get some feedback as to how this works Q1. Are you able to lower and raise the engine with the arm attached? The arm is not in-line with the axis of rotation of the engine -it seems as tho...

The boat has been antifouled will this be a problem with the Mac Bump?

Maybe the washing liquid would help

Getting the boat on the Trailer - Gap at front

Need some advise on how to get the boat on the trailer so that there is no gap at the front between the rubber V and the hull. I am too scared to drive the boat onto the trailer as shown in the Mac video. So I float the boat and winch it snug into the front rubber V. Since the boat is floating when ...

Thanks again for all the input.

I will first check the venting of the fuel tanks - It will be a couple of weeks until I can get to the boat.

Will let you know how it goes

Thanks for your input.

Another thought - How well should the petrol(gas) tank be vented?

My tank has a small screw for venting - I have just loosened this not removed it.

Unfortunately it will be 3 weeks before I can try this

What do you think?

Evinrude 50 (2-stk) Missing at WOT?

have just discovered and joined this site – great place to share experiences and expertise. I also posted this on the Macgregor/venturer discussion board. I own a 2006 Macgregor 26M and am very happy with it. It has an Evinrude 50 hp 2 stroke motor. I live in Melbourne Australia I wanted to see if a...

Thanks for your help.

The problem occurs at 5500 rpm. Seems ok at 4000 rpm.

Another interesting problem is the last time I took the boat out I was able to get 5500 rpm but after a while was only able to get about 5100 rpm - don't know if this is related.
Sea conditions had not changed.
