Re: Chartplotter?

Thanks All..... those were all pretty good opinions. I will definately take in consideration. My intended usage is here on Lesser Slave Lake but next summer, I plan to load everything up and haul her out to the coast for a couple of weeks. The plan is to drop in at Lund and then sail over to Comox (...

Chartplotter?

Hey all, I'm looking at picking up a new chartplotter for my 2002 26X. Thought I'd tap into the experience here. What do you guys run in your boats? better yet, what would you consider adding? I'm really looking at the Lowrence HDS-8 but it's a little on the pricey side ($2200 cdn). I really like t...

Well the course is done and it was a blast!!! Left from Vancouver and grossed the georgia straight the first day and stayed in a small cove south of Gabriola. Second day, went to Conovers cove and toured the island. Took a few pics of an older Mac that also stayed in conovers. Day three, went throug...

I have the force 10 (225 I believe). mounted on the aft port quarter and I absolutely love it. It's never lost it's lustre even after being exposed to the elements for 2 summers. Heats up nicely, has locking clips to keep the lid down and it's really easy to keep clean. I remade the mounting bracket...

I put in a UFlex 11' in my 2002X and love it. the stock detmar was a 2 fisted, white knuckled ordeal. The UFlex is now 3 turns from full port to full starboard and it's easily done with one finger. I recommend it !! the worst part is putting on the template and gathering up the courage to drill a ho...

Not a problem..... I knew you would. Just keep your radio on so I can call Ray-Lee-Joy over to Beer Bay where I'll be waiting with a cold one for you. Once there, you can tell me how well that 50 is running.

Marc....... here's the joy of having an X. Last fall, I let the board and rudders 1/2 down as well as tilted the motor just in case I got into trouble. A perfect east wind and I rolled out the Jenny at the entrance to Billys marina. I let the Jenny pull me out to the lake. The board hit the sand but...

Captain Mac's school

Has anyone taken the courses offered from Captain Mac's school of seamanship in Vancouver? I've booked a course for the week of May 12 leaving from Mosquito creek marina and was wondering if anyone has taken his courses before and how they liked it.

this was the conversation...

lady Astor : If you were my husband sir, I would poison your drink.
Winston Churchill: No offence my dear but if you were my wife, I would drink it!

A lot of wisdom from an old drunk.

I purchased my 2002 26X from Mike at Ghost Lake 3 yrs ago. It was a consignment deal and he really didn't have much to do with the deal. I stopped in last year and he really tried to sell me a new boat. When I asked about getting some replacemant parts, I didn't really get a lot of assistance. I'm s...
