Re: Infants on board?
Congratulations! I've always said that my son is the greatest part of my life and I know that your child will have great times sailing. 8) Just wanted to add that, in addition to that infant life jacket, you might want to consider getting the first 6-8 months of vaccinations. You never know what's g...

Re: Roll Call!
2001 X, moored at home on Lake Harding, AL/GA
Just sanded & repainted bottom, added another battery w/switch, new canvas and a topping lift. Am now broke. But, I take a cup of coffee and sit in the cockpit many mornings and have decided it was definitely worth it.

Anyone made a covering for transom?
Still a newbie, here, but I can't help but worry that the dog is going to slide right out the back of the cockpit, past the motor, which could be really awful. I have searched for all of the after market items produced by several companies for MacGregors, and do not see where anyone offers anything ...

Re: I have blisters - thousands of them
While I'm not licensed to give legal advice in California, this one sounds as if it could be a replace-with-a-new-boat situation. In most states, the law is such that there are certain warranties that cannot be 'disclaimed' regardless of how a manufacturer might try, so you might want to take your w...

Thanks for advice.
My new rigging is supposed to arrive tomorrow and I have one sheet that is still in decent shape. I will see about using it for a downhaul. A great idea that I would not have thought of. Thanks. Xsailor, For what it is worth, here is something that works very well for us ... When laying out your des...

There are bolts holding up the rudders????
Well, I have only taken it out once since putting it in the water last week and bringing to my dock, and both rudders dropped like a rock when I took the tension & ropes off the cletes. So I'm guessing that is something the previous owner threw away?? Couple of questions: Is there an aftermarket...

Recently found MacGregor, too.
I've been reading this board for a few weeks, trying to learn about MacGregor's and bought a 2001 on Saturday and brought it home; then joined this community yesterday. There is nothing to replace with knowledge of the people in this group. I've sailed some before, but I absolutely learn something e...
