Re: Starter battery size

It is unfortunate that the myth around the world is that Macs can't make coastal passages People are missing out on the fact that this type of vessel is great for gunkholeing I think this thought comes from unskilled sailors that get frightened by an event early in their sailing days They don't know...

Re: LED replacement problem

Did you reverse the polariy before trying the bulbs?
I don't know the bulbs but wouldn't the active terminal be positive or centre pin of the bulb?
You may have reversed the fittings for no reason

Re: Electrical question

Barry
Your battery terminals should tell you if you have the battery around the right way as one terminal is smaller than the other
If you reverse polarity you could damage any electronics you may have on the motor
You may have to reverse your wiring at the light socket or at the switch panel

If you get it too hot it will fracture) do not warm the p...

Servicing Suzuki DF50 motor

I am going to do a full service on my Suzuki DF50
Is there a prefered oil for engine and gearbox?
I would normally get a marine mechanic to do this job however we do not have one in the area
Is draining the engine oil an easy task?

How do you clean the powerhead of your outboard?
Do you use degreaser and hose it off?

I take your point
I shall retract my suggestion
I was referring to the boat being used in trawler mode with no mast
