Re: New Member need info on bottom painting and prep
I remember that it took me over 40 hours to complete from start to end. It was worth it, but i agree it's tough on the old body, i was sore for a week afterwards.

Re: New Member need info on bottom painting and prep
i had the blister issue with my 2008M, i sanded them all down, made sure they were dry, then i prepped the bottom and used Interlux 2000 for the bottom coat, i used intervals of white and grey to make sure i got complete coverage. I used up all the paint i had purchased, i think it ended up with 6 c...

We also received 18" of snow on the US/Canada Border, Canadian side near Malone NY. Snow is to deep to get to my boat

Re: BENT MAST
I bent my mast this year, found a replacement, good thing for insurance. I decided to go the summer without the mast. Will have it ready for the fall.

Re: My new Mac
Enjoy, makes me remember when we picked up our new Mac 26M, and took it on it's 8 hour trip back home. And spending the first few nights on it, anchored out on next to an island enjoying a beautiful sunset. Remember the great memories you are making, they need to last a lifetime.

Re: Things that go bump in the night
I find you get used to the noises as long as you can identify them. It's those odd ones that keep you up. We have spent up to 3 weeks on our M and I sleep great, better than at home. I find I can only de-stress on the water.

Re: Barrier coat options?
I finally finished bottom coating my 26M, it took about 40 hours in total. It's a lot of under the boat time. I ended up using 3.5 gallons of Interprotect 2000e, I hope that will be enough to eliminate the blister problem.

Re: Barrier coat options?
Thanks for the reply, my other question is does it make sense to wax the bottom coat for extra protection.

Re: Barrier coat options?
My question is, if you trailer sail most of the time, i might spend 2 weeks on the water at a time. I did just bottom coat my 26M with 7 coats of 2000E interlux, do i really need to ad antifouling? or is the bottom coat enough to avoid blisters.
