Re: reinstall Plastimo flexible tank

I have a 200 litre in my 26x in the starboard bilge locker under dining room seat. If I remember correctly the top connection is a much larger diameter than the bottom as that is for the fill hose and the bottom is for the output to water system. I don't think you would get any draw using the top co...

Re: 12 gal fuel/gas tank for MAC26X

Thanks for the responses on size . Found this one which only required about 1/2 inch trimmed off each side of the locker with a dremel cutting wheel. The filler hole is right on the side so no need to cut a access port. The filler cap still has to come off to go in but is easily removed once inside....

12 gal fuel/gas tank for MAC26X

Greetings. I currently have a single 9 GAL tempo gas tank that fits in the outside locker of the 26x . I'm looking to add another for the spare locker and looking on line I see there are numerous 12 gal models that might fit inside the locker with perhaps fuel cap removed and inserted at a angle to ...

Re: Filling the Fuel Tanks

I have the 12 gal tank as well. Most marinas where I am at in Canada let me fill it in the boat as they say it has no handles and is not really portable. I was thinking a about putting access holes with flush covers right above the gas tanks ease filling. With your covers on the fuel lazarette compa...

Re: Spinnaker versus Whisker pole?

I have used the smalles forespar brand whisker pole for 3 years on my 26x with no problems. It is one of my most useful pieces of equipment. You will have to add an eye to the front of your mast which takes about a half an hour. It makes down wind sailing in gusty weather so much more relaxing and e...

Re: Yikes!! I need help - gallons of fuel in the bilge.

I just replaced that engine well drain hose arrangement with a single more rigid sanitary hose as it was always plugging up when the centre hose pinched off and I could'nt get water preasure or a wire auger to clear it. Now I have a single piece of 2 foot hose with no elbows that is more rigid and j...

Re: Modify Anchor to fit in locker?

I have the 13 1lb danforth anchor which I cut down myself with a hacksaw and and drilled a new hole to fit in the locker. No problems with hold all summer long in some adverse wind and current conditions with heavily loaded boat (3 people and 3 days of supplies). With an adequate chain length (20 fe...
