Re: The best all-round piece of electronic (GPS w/sonar)
I have a Garmin 3006c with sonar, speed over water and water temp. It came with the boat...and I love it. It may be a little fancy but I don't think I would go for less after having used it this summer in Desolation Sound. I bought the West Coast Blue Charts chip. However, you might want to think ab...

Re: The boat on its side in the Solent
boy, I've never read so much blather from un educated non mac owners in my life as I have at YBW.com. I thought Sailing Anarchy was bad. There were some rational posts but not one pointed out the fact that if this had been a conventional boat that had some bad luck in the Solent, the picture would h...

This type of shade is known in my neck of the woods as an "African Queen" maybe form the old Bogey film by the same name?

Re: Backstays?
Here's a little experience I had with my M. I live at the end of Howe Sound and every afternoon we get a wicked inflow... 25-30knots. when I was new to the boat I did the silly thing of flying wing on wing home one day and have since a couple of times with a 150 genny. Ya Hoo. At one point I was sur...

Re: prop size on a macgregor 26m
Hi there, is this lake Constance in Austria? I think that your dealer is on the right track although the 8 pitch might be a littler extreme. I have a F50 have the same prop only in a 9degree pitch and it works great. Cheers

Re: prop size
I use a Solas 12X3X9 for a Yamaha f50 and if the Honda specs are similar, then this prop might work for you.

Re: Mac dealer that sells yamaha
I bet if you find a similar prop to the 12X3X9 you are going to see the RPMs on the F60. For a boat this heavy the large diameter with smaller pitch seems to be the way to go. Your hi thrust model of engine though has a lower gear ratio in the leg so you probably won't want to go to a 9deg pitch. I ...

Re: Mac dealer that sells yamaha
You may be interested in this. I now have a Solas 12X3X9 prop. Ballast out, fins up, leaning forward, I reach 4900rpm with a top speed over water of a little over 11knots with the F50Yamaha 4 stroke,2004 model, fuel injected, mounted on my 2006 :macm: . I can cruise at round 6knots with an rpm of 22...

Re: Need advice on tow vehicle
I use a '98 Tacoma 4X4, extended cab v6 auto. and have no problems. Its tow capacity is an ample 5000lbs I think you may have some issues on the steeper ramps with the Town Car. cheers

28 is fine, but beamier would be great. A foot wider on the
even and it would satisfy our crew.

Re: Replacement Trailer Guide Ons
Nice work, looks good in stainless. I did something similar to my trailer last year due to the same reasons. If you live in a cold climate, make sure you drill a hole at the bottom of each vertical tube to prevent ice jacking. This spring. after a cold snap I found my rollers on the ground as the tu...

Re: Testing a new Traveler Mod
I really like this and have thought about it before myself but I am wondering how it can't interfere with the Dodger. I have the small one and short of going over top of it which leaves little room, how would you do it?

Re: Project M - Doubling the Size of the Cockpit
This is a very cool idea, but after looking at the animation (very cool as well) I kind of wonder how you would seal it at the cockpit floor? I'm sure you have put some thought into this?
