Re: alcohol or propane stove?
I have an Origo Alcohol stove in my X and it's great - I certainly don't like Propane inside. I do have a Magma grill on the rear rail and that's fine with the small propane cylinders. I have heard a little about CNG and it's likely safer as it's lighter than air - but I think for this and any large...

Re: 26X with smaller motor/sailing ability
My 26X has the Suzuki 50 4-stroke - nice motor but much noisier at WOT than I anticipated..... It goes decently but sucks down the gas - so I generally just putt along at 2100 rpm which is around 6.... it's more relaxing and it sips gas that way

I can measure it for you as I'll be going out this weekend - but I would agree it's about 2 feet

Re: What size auxiliary motor?
I was looking at the 2.5HP Suzuki 4-stroke for an emergency kicker / dink motor.... It looks reasonable, has a 3-year warranty and weighs 28 pounds and has a built in fuel tank which they say gives 55min at WOT - my only concern is if 2.5HP would even move the Mac X - the 4HP just looks far too heav...

Re: How many of you get sea sick?
Anyone can get seasick. Years ago I had a Carver Flybridge Cruiser (yes I know) - and I remember leaning over to mess with the anchor rode in fairly stiff seas, All of a sudden I felt quite bad, soon passed once we got moving but it happens. I also heard that ginger was good - probably the fizzy gin...

Re: More Honda woes. (Different, but related to previous rant)
I am suprised people seem to have had issues with Honda's, I have a Honda Pilot and its a great car, I would have expected their attention to detail would have followed into the marine applications. Anyhow - I have a Suzuki 4-stroke, so far seems like a great engine, also has 3 water intakes, one hi...

Re: No fuel to my Big Foot Merc 60 hp HELP?
I just went through all this getting my Suzuki 50 4-stroke back in working order - in hindsight I should have started with the high pressure fuel pump - ended up replacing it as it was completely gunked up from sitting several years - I also replaced the injectors - which probably could have been sa...

Re: General Thoughts for Mac26X/Suzuki DF-50 Owners
I had similar issues with my Suzuki - in this case it has sat for about 4 years - so I ended up having the: - Injectors replaced - Rebuilt fuel rail - high pressure fuel pump replaced as well as of course the plugs and oil change etc. In retrospect I probably could have got away without the injector...

Re: Need Help with purchase
I recently picked up a 2001 X in somewhat unloved shape with a 50HP Suzuki 4-stroke for $5,000 - seemed like a good deal - I have has some parts replaced on the motor (fuel rail etc) since its been sitting and after a couple of evenings with spray on cleaner the inside cleaned up like new. The only ...
