All,
Thank you for the advice to put the roller furling on. Tried it out this weekend and it was great. Had a little trouble getting the mast up but that was because it was the first time.
Looking forward to a great sailing season.

Re: moving the Mac with out a vehicle-uphill-tight quarters.
I had the same issue at my last house. I sunk a 4x6 in concrete up the hill to where the back would be parked. Then I bolted a winch to it close to the ground. I would hook the strap to the trailer from the back center and slowly crank it into place. I had a trailer dolly on the front that I would a...

Re: Roller Furling
OK - I have been talked into it. As @Azzarac says - I should give it a try. The PVC furler suppor mod is great. I have a big PVC pipe in storage that I'm not doing anything with that will work perfectly. Next question. When the boat is on the trailer or in storage. Do you have a sleeve or cover that...

Roller Furling
Hello all, I purchased my 99 26X about 6 years ago. When I purchased it came with roller furling that the previous owner had removed. Through the years I've just been using the hank on jib. My reason for not putting it back on was because I didn't want to complicate the setup time. My thoughts on wh...

Re: Blue Water Yachts Full Enclosure for the 26X
Questions for those who have the full enclosure from BWY for the X. What are the steps needed to take for trailering? Do you have to take off the dodger and store below or will it lay forward with a cover? Does the bimini lay back for trailering like the one that comes stock? What is the setup time ...

Re: Apps for boating
Marine Traffic - IPAD - IPhone not sure about android https://www.marinetraffic.com I didn't see this app on the list. I'm on the Tennessee River and the ICW a lot and it is nice to know what vessel traffic is heading my way. In addition, it will give you the vessels name and direction if you want t...

Re: 97 x drain valve question
My 96 has ballast fill under the step. The fill would leak even after I replaced the rubber seal, so I used 5200 and closed it permanently. Now I use the transom valve to fill the ballast with no issues. So yes the transom valve will allow for filling.

Re: AUGUSTA TO SAVANNAH
Savannah used to be my sailing grounds and I've fished and kayaked the Savannah River many times. The Savannah typically runs about 1-2 knots but that can change fast if the watershed gets a lot of rain. I assume you are planning on going down the river with your mast down since the bridges are arou...

Re: Zombies Dont Swim
Need to get the proper tow vehicle, so I can get to the coast with the X.
I'm looking at this:

Of course I will add a gun mount on the top.

Re: Changing a Transom (Ballest Vent) Valve from 1.5" to a 3"
I too have been thinking about adding the 3" hole to my 96X. The main question I have is how much faster could you drain the ballast with the 3" hole? It currently takes me about 12min with the 1.5" running at 4000rpm. For those who have done it - Can I expect about half that time?

Re: Radio antenna wire down mast
I also did this last year. To keep the wires from slapping the side of the mast I put a zip tie every foot or so and did not cut the end off. The excess holds the wire in place in the mast.
