Re: Grounding Portable Generator

Again I've use the wrong general term for a specific situation. On my mooring when I need to charge my Batterries with a portable generator do I need to hook the "ground" from the generator to the boat. The generator ground is a sperate bolt with nuts away from the 3 prong AC plug ins. I h...

Grounding Portable Generator

Does a portable generator require grounding while charging thru shore power plug? If so is a Stanion Screw or
Backstay Mount OK?

Re: Long Distance WiFi...

Thanks Summer: Very useful and especially informative site on Whats 5gigs. In my slip I do use an unsecured WiFi. The boat (26X) and myself are going 100% liveaboard about 1 mile away. My plans are to get set up on the mooring field. Then see if there is a reliable unsecured Wifi. If not I will get ...

Re: Long Distance WiFi...

I'm going Liveaboard in the Key West Mooring Field April 1. My plans are to use an ATT Air Card for my Acer Netbook. Wi Fi was what I wanted, but for reasons I don't understand its not avalible. I was going to start a thread on Air Cards, but thought this could be included in this thread. My only co...

Re: Fuel Line Filter / Water Separator

If I put a jet engine, PT Boat engine, or diesel engine on my 26X, I'll considered
taking the filter off, but until then the 100.00 investment is much cheeper than
carb rebuilding, and for some reason gives me a sense of security.

Re: Fuel Line Filter / Water Separator

Information resource WMC 2010: Racor 10 mic, "Racor's famous Aquabloc filter separates water into the bottom of the drain bowel and ensures virtually 100% removal of water and solid contaminants". Also "designed for use on suction side of pump" Sierra Filters: "10 micron fil...

Re: Fuel Line Filter / Water Separator

Have placed Racor's see thru 10 micron filters on my 8 hp and 50 hp Yamahas, directed by Yamaha to place
in this order fuel tank, filter, then priming bulb.

Re: Buying a MAC in FL

Hey from Key West: Last week I needed to leave my normal world (key west) and travel to the abnormal world (just about everywhere else). I notice 2 Xs for sale around Key Largo. One was in a boat yard near the city and the other in the last yard/marinia on Car Sound Road heading toward Miami. I have...

I have also used my Mac X this summer as motor only. It allowed me to get into the very shallow
water of the Keys Backcountry (2-3'). Love your motor only mast.
I am interested in your inflat size and how to secure it. Also does it fit and/or
cause sailing problems with mast/rigging up?

Blue Water Yachts sells an anchor roller for 26Xs (100.00). Anybody have comments/opinions concerning use and
installation?

Re: Anyone hear of this happening????

James V The Mac is the perfect boat for the Keys. This summer (mast off/ballast out) I routinely motored to Boca Grande thru the Lakes Area. I was able to go under the bridge not around Flemming Key to the many snorkeling places, and with little concern about Key West tides, harbor current, AND VERY...
