Re: Dual Small Gas Tanks?

For my boat I put access ports above the fill ports on the tanks. I have a five gallon tank that isn’t too unmanageable to refill the main tanks if needed. Just a thought.

Re: Dual Small Gas Tanks?

On my X I have two of the twelve gallon tanks Blue Water Yachts used to sell. I think someone fitted two six gallon tanks where the one twelve fits. Just a thought.

Re: Need new steering!

For Closehaul, The limiting factor for my motor are the throttle cables. The motor is able to tilt up and go onto the tilt bracket easily. The cables exit the Evinrude 115 in a strange way but the steering system still works fine like it is mounted. The cylinder tilts into the motorwell as the motor...

Re: Type of screw into boom.

NiceAft, I just went to YouTube and typed in DIY rivnut tool. It appears all of the tools are just variations of the same principle. You’re ultimately just tightening the rivnut into place and compressing it. There are some videos with nuts, washers, and an appropriate bolt. There are a few using a ...

Re: Type of screw into boom.

Lee,
You can go out and buy a riv-nut tool to install the riv-nuts but if you go to YouTube you can watch a few videos on how to install the riv-nuts with a bolt and a few nuts with washers. It will save you some money instead of buying the tool. Hope that saves you a few. Tony

X sighting

I was watching Best Medicine. Season 1 episode 3 about the 27.5 minute mark or a little after they pan to the water. It is at the end of the dock on the left. Have fun, Tony

Re: Swim & Fisher platform

iXi,
Some of your responses have come off really harsh. For the limited market of the X or the M it might do you well to not be as what appears combative to possible customers. I’m just making a suggestion and don’t really want to debate this. Happy sailing, Tony

Re: Rudder Quick Release

Here is what I did to mine. I started the line tied off at the cleat on the cockpit coaming. It the goes down to the rudder. On the rudder I have a block that halves the lifting effort. The block is held to the back side of the rudder by a big becket. You can see it in the picture I will attach. Onc...

Re: Need new steering!

Over, Let me see if I can answer all your questions. The hydraulic ram has two bent rods that go through the engine pivot, they are covered in the blue mesh in my picture. Those rods are connected to the ram which is under the stops that are red in the picture. Those stops are to keep the engine ste...

Re: Trailer: Rotten woods

Kurz,
Just did this for my trailer. Pressure treated two by (width you want) is what I used. Backed the boat into the water at the ramp and worked on it while it was on the dock. If you have a busy dock just anchor out and park your trailer while you work on it. Tony

Re: Need new steering!

I think my system is a Vevor system I bought off of eBay. It is for outboards up to 150 hp. They have three different sizes. The smaller one I thought wouldn’t work with my Evinrude 115. My unit is sized perfectly. I don’t have the delay that NiceAft was talking about. I just got off the phone with ...

Re: Need new steering!

I installed a hydraulic system on my X earlier this year. Should have done it a long time ago. It makes steering so much easier. It holds a course. With the tubing, uou cut it to the correct length easily. Follow the directions and it sets up quick. I can send pictures or answer questions if needed....

Re: Swim & Fisher platform

Russ, think the configuration that comes through the motor pivot tube is slightly different. Like I said earlier the person that replied to me initially did not get back to me after I asked about the hydraulic setup I have. I’m taking the Mac out tomorrow to splash it and take some measurements alon...

Re: Swim & Fisher platform

Hello Y'all, I am making a swim platform like the one Profusion Marine makes. I have hydraulic steering on my Evinrude 115. I asked them if their platform could work on a hydraulic system. He responded that he would look into it and get back with me. As far as I saw he never did. For the platform I ...
