Re: Depth Gauge installation

Great idea, Sumner. I'm planning to mount mine under the V-berth just ahead of the keel.
Thanks for the photos.

Depth Gauge installation

Hello, I am hoping to install a Uniden QT206W Depth Gauge in my 1984 Mac25. I bought an 'Inside the hull' type, as I wasn't interested in drilling a hole in the bottom of my boat. In looking at the instructions, it questions whether the hull is cored. Apparently it can be very difficult to install i...

Re: Sail replacement

Just a quick question. In searching mainsail options, I'm seeing "MacGregor 25" and "MacGregor 25 MH". Can anyone explain the difference? What does the "MH" refer to? Thanks

Sail replacement

Hello Folks,
Can anyone recommend the best source for a new (or even a good used) mainsail for my 1984 Mac 25?
I live in Canada.
Thanks

Re: How many ID numbers on Macgregor25 (1984)?.

Hi CaptainSam, My '84 only has it on the starboard side of the transom around where the ladder is mounted. It looks like 2 lines of Dymo-tape embedded in the gelcoat.

Good Luck

Re: M25 seeping V-berth ceiling

Thanks for the suggestions folks. We don't smoke, but maybe a previous owner did. I've seen that effect in houses. I'll check the various suggestions and I'll try to get a photo if it persists :macm: .
Happy Sailing

M25 seeping V-berth ceiling

Hi Folks. I have a 1984 Mac25 (the "Loch & Quay") that seems to be doing something strange. There appears to be a dark brown, almost viscous liquid seeping from spots on the ceiling and walls of the V-berth. A year or two ago I painted that area white with BIN primer (Not fun when you'...

Re: Repair Bow D-Ring?

I cut a 4-inch access hole in the bow panel and installed a standard threaded cover so I can get back in there to retighten if needed. That space was/is full of chunks of styrofoam...I suppose as part of the flotation, but I can't imagine it would make much difference. I also used a piece of flat al...

Re: a few questions on my new M25

Welcome! My 84 Mac25 came with a black plastic cap riveted into the masthead. The support arm for the Windex is screwed to that. Sure looks original.

Re: Carpeted Cielings On My Mac 25

Our 1984 appears to have the original beige carpet headliner running from the companionway just to the fore of the Head. Nothing on the V-berth ceiling but white paint. No mildew in the carpet though, luckily. Definitely sounds like you need to re-bed the fittings that run through it. What I am deal...
