Any Recommendations for Water Bladder & Pump?
We have noticed in some of the posts that people have installed water bladders e.g. under the beds. Does anybody have a recommendation for a 10-20 gal water bladder that is sturdy (not the flimsy 5 gal ones that sometimes come with the boat) and not too expensive, and for a pump and hardware that go...

Re: Mast support for long road trip with 2004 Mac26M
Thanks for all your tips, which make a lot of sense. My husband is taking the spreaders off to avoid damaging them and he will look for an additional mast support to put on the mast step. By the way, he now made it to Iowa. Regards, Silke

Mast support for long road trip with 2004 Mac26M
Hello all, My husband just started driving from Florida home to Alaska with our 2004 MacGregor 26M in tow. Our mast is secured on the railing in the front (with some bolts) and on the mast support rod close to the steering column in the cockpit. My husband noticed that the mast support in the cockpi...

Re: troubled surge brakes: diagnosis and repair tips???
Thanks for your responses, everyone! I checked out the links. Our problem is the opposite as most described in the forum. The brakes are not locked in position, and my husband did not have a problem opening them. When we use the trailer, the brakes do not engage although there is enough brake fluid ...

troubled surge brakes: diagnosis and repair tips???
Hello all, We recently bought a MacGregor 26M from 2004. When we got the boat, the surge brakes on the trailer still worked, now they don't. After talking to others, we figured out that the most likely reason why they broke was that my husband backed up the trailer without unplugging the electric tr...

Re: 26M steering failure
Thanks for your replies everybody, sounds reassuring that is it not too difficult to install. By the way, we still have the long haul ahead of us: we bought the boat in Florida, went/are sailing with it in the Bahamas, and then my husband is going to trailer it to Seattle so that we can sail it up a...

26M steering failure
We have a 2004 MacGregor 26 M. My husband, who is now sailing in the Bahamas, called me (in Alaska ) in a steering emergency: some teeth are broken off from the vertical metal bar (is that called the rack?) inside the steering column, rendering the steering disfunctional. Since I have access to phon...
