Re: Survey-MacGregor Hull stiffness
Hi All It's been a few months since I've posted anything here, I've been busy with work and family. It's amazing to me how opinions can incite so much passion. I like to think of myself as a student of life, with a very tolerant side. I have learned so much this following year as a "newbie"...

Re: Honda 50 power
Sounds like your high speed jets are clogged. I rebuilt mine during the winter. It was quite easy. There are five very small holes (Jets) at the top of your throtle body that flow fuel during high RPMs. If they are clogged your engine will stall as the RPMs increase. If carb cleaner in the fuel does...

Re: Top speed w/ full ballast
Hi Steve I rebuilt my carbs last winter as well. I have a Honda BF 50. Im very pleased with my 13 mph with full ballast and five people evenly spread out on the boat and 19-20 mph with the wife and I with empty ballast. Rpm is 5700, I find that at 5900 rpm the prop starts to cavitate a bit. Glad to ...

Re: Lake Ontario sailing destinations??
Hi Shawn The wife and I are taking two trips this summer, the first summer with our 26x. The first will be trailering it to Tobermory Ontario for a week and the second from Toronto to Sandbanks Provincial Park and on to Kingston for two weeks. We went camping in Tobermory last year, what a beautiful...

Standing Rigging
Hello All Mike from "Just Nuisance" here. I was wondering if someone could enlighten me regarding the use of a roller fuller as the sole forestay? I have a cdi on my 26x that will hold a genoa that the P.O. never used. But was wondering if the rope ( sorry for my lack of rigging etiquette)...

Re: troubled surge brakes: diagnosis and repair tips???
Hi I found my master cylinder empty when I bought my boat as well. I had to dismantle, clean and rebuild it. I didn't find any leaks anywhere, but I don't think the PO monitered the level( 8 years). Just so you know, If you are going to change from drums to discs and don't want to replace the master...

Hi Ralph I write this response a good 4 months after it was posted. I do have concerns about the Scarborough Bluffs, but mainly regarding errosion. The issues I see on your linked website to me equals property values, not environmental gains. As new technologys and ideas emerg so should our awarness...

Re: What is so bad about these boats???
Hi Jamie I just bought a 2001 mac 26x in late Sept 09. I think you have to ask yourself. Are you a person that cares about what other sailors might think? If you drink wine, does it have to be $100 bottle? My daughter will not buy cloths unless it say's "hollister" or "coach" on ...
