Re: Queensland Facebook Page

Sounds good to me.
I'm a Victorian and have just come back from 3weeks with my Mac in the Gold Coast and southern Moreton Bay Area, and would have appreciated some more info about venues, facilities, SHOWERS, etc.
Hoping to go to Fraser Isand next year .

Re: Gold Coasting in May

Hi Fresh Breeze

Sorry to hear about your wife. Very disappointing for you both - but these things happen. Hope she makes full recovery soon.

Hope to catch up in the future.

Re: New dinghy

I have a Walker Bay 8. Have used it only once on a two-night cruise - found I couldn't row against the tide -> bought a Honda 2.3 hp. This is definitely the weight limit for the little dinghy, I'd say. When by myself I have to sit in the midships seat to balance the boat. Use a polypipe extension to...

Re: Mini dodger trailering questions

Thanks, fellas.

Probably a silly question.....

Took Relackson out for the first time with the new dodger fitted. All went well - boom cleared well.

Ordering quick release pins.

Fair sailing

Mini dodger trailering questions

Just fitting my new mini dodger all the way from BWYs in the USA. I'm about to take Relackson out of the water and trailer her nearly 2000 kilometres up to Brisbane. My questions are: do you leave the dodger up when you drop the mast (will the mast fit over the dodger when laying in its normal posit...

Re: Gold Coasting in May

Hi Dennis

Thanks for the positive weather outlook. Hope it is good to me.

If I get up to the Sunshine Coast, I'll certainly give you a call.

Gold Coasting in May

I'm taking Relackson up to the Gold Coast Seaway and Moreton Bay from middle of May until first week of June. Planning on leaving the car and boat somewhere for 4-6 weeks and fly home. When I come back plan to take the boat up to Fraser Island for a month or so, and then head back to the cold south....

Re: Crack in captain seat hinge

Bartmac, any disadvantages to leaving the seat off?

Do you just sit to the side?

Any issues about "falling" backwards?

I'm still keen on the idea.

Re: Crack in captain seat hinge

Thanks for your responses, fellas.

Russ, tried my best to reach up, couldn't get anywhere near it. The two skins narrow, and foam gets in the way.

Have decided to put an inspection plate in under the seat.

Have even contemplated leaving the seat off.

Thanks again.

Crack in captain seat hinge

The hinge on my captain's seat is finally about to give out (as I have feared for some time - never confident about design). It has a split either side of it - just worn out. As I can't find a replacement in Aussie, I intend to see if I can get in welded. My immediate challenge is releasing it from ...

Re: Rotors

Can't help with the rotors - I bought a Loadrite trailer a year ago. Have just got around to selling my original Mac trailer - if anyone is interested. But might be able to help my Aussie mates in regard to expensive shipping from the US. I have just ordered a new dodger and doors from Blue Water Ya...

Re: Aussie Dodger

My response from BWY (which was almost immediate and very comprehensive) indicated that you can have the vinyl doors partly open either in the middle or at the outsides. All sides are zipped to the dodger. I know this might have implications for mozzies, etc., but it will allow heat to escape on tho...

Re: Aussie Dodger

Thanks for the further information, fellas. Sea Shadow, I spoke with Dave today and he thinks the canvas bloke "has left the building". Bartmac, your photo is pretty small - difficult to see the dodger. Any other photos? Where did you get it? How much? Mac26Mpaul, the Blue Reef Yachts one ...

Re: Aussie Dodger

Thanks, fellas. I continue to be amazed - and so, so grateful! This forum (and its contributors) is just so bloody helpful. Lots to go on. Really appreciated. Sea Shadow, thanks for the info. I know Dave personally - we are both members at Newhaven Yacht Squadron. He's been very helpful to me. He'll...

Aussie Dodger

I've decided that I'm sick of getting the cabin wet when it's raining and I go in and out of the cabin. I'm looking to get a dodger - but I don't want to get a full-size one that will inhibit me getting forward. I'm aware of the Blue Water Yachts dodger that covers just the companion way - and the d...
