Morbid curiosity ... is there a enhanced rudder and bracket for the early X models? 8)

Re: Have you ever had the itch to sell your 26M/X and buy a "true" sailboat?

Nice observation. I've had a lot of people "oinvite" themselves to look at the interior of my 97X. Every one (esp. the ladies) have commented on how surprised they are by the roominess inside. 8)

Re: Tips for anchoring a 26X

An X anchor roller Hi folks! New 26X owner here. I anchored a few times and find the anchor locker and cleat arrangement to be cumbersome. I don't have a bow roller or anything -- just a danforth style anchor with a bit of chain and rope. I find that deploying or retrieving the anchor with the locke...

26X small seat cusihon?

Not sure why but my 97 X small seat cushion (inside between stern and galley) is pretty beat.

Any know a good place for a replacement? 8)

Re: 12 Gallon fuel tanks

Ditto. It's irritating, but not a big deal. 8) I should have mentioned in my previous post that my two 6 gallon tanks are Scepter - low profile, under seat types. They fit just fine, fuel cap and all. The only thing I do not like about them is the fuel line connection point is not in the center of t...

Re: 12 Gallon fuel tanks

Ditto. Except my tanks are both one the starboard side. 8) I use the 2x6gal tanks and just switch the fuel line as needed to the active tank via a quick connect system. I have them on separate sides to balance weight and have found I prefer that to both on 1 side. To see when I need to switch tanks ...

Re: Solo Docking

Is there an advantage to having the two dock line cross each other? Around here were just use the nearest one. 8)

Re: Ruff Seas

FYI, include a line from the harness to an anchor point for extra safety. :) https://i.postimg.cc/jLQ3NpnL/IMG-5605.avif Bear went sailing with me this weekend on my :macm: . I don't take him with me very often - mostly because I worry about him falling out of the boat. He's very attached to me and ...

Clean/restore wood cover for stove

I'm getting ambitious. My wood cover for my stove hasn't been cleaned in 14+ years. It's a bit stained, etc.
Any recommendations on what to use? 8)

Re: Repowering with smaller engine options

If you filled the ballast tank with helium, wouldn't that make your boat lighter? Easier for a smaller engine? Or faster to get on plane for a 50+ HP? :P

Re: Best Bimini for a 26X?

I thought I'd revisit this thread. My Bimini came with my X (factory or dealer or PO - I don't know) and is pretty old - a bit of wear and teat but still works. Looking at replacing it and open to suggestions. The point about SS makes sense, you know teenagers will abuse it/misuse it. 8) I did my re...

Boating numbers increasing?

Was down at my marina this morning at 4 am to beat the 4 July rush. The local police were blocking off the marina entrance. In the entire (sevral hundred) parking lot, there were only 3 open spots. This has never happened before - at least since 2011. I know boating took a dip for a few years, but h...
