Thank you for your data, I have often wondered what the exact fuel economy is and I have the exact same set up. How fast was your current?? Do you run much with no ballast??

clogged drain
I wrestled with the clogged drain problem all last season. After crawling back under to access the hoses and dissconnecting them and cleaning them it clogged again soon after, so I tried the compressed air from the outside drain back up and that worked great. However, my boat is moored in water all ...

26M rigid boom vang installation
I recently purchased the Garhauer Rigid Boom vang for my 26M. It came with no instructions for installation. I have read the threads re the boom vang for the 26X but this seems to be a different animal, ie no mounting brackets or plates with this vang for the 26M. I think I get the basic installatio...

My family of 6 (Me, wife, 4 kids ages 17,15,13,7) sleep comfortably in our 26M. The aft berth is much more roomy for two adults so my wife and I take that one. Two kids in the bow berth and one of the teens on the dining area berth and the other on the bench cushions. Sleeping on the 26M is fine wit...

When to reef
I agree with the adage "when you think it might be time to reef then it is time". As far as at what wind speed to reef, most of the time you are not aware what the actual wind speed is and you should rely on visual clues from nature ie when white caps start to form on the waves the the win...

Yes, Thank you all for your help. I am in fact referring to the cam cleats just aft of the winches. The one that has come loose is on the port side. I have not been back to the marina this week to work on it but now with all your good suggestions I feel I can probably fix it. The cam cleat it self i...

Barkley Sound trip
We made the trip to Port Alberni from Anacortes last summer towing boats. No problems crossing the boarder, the ferry from Tswassen to naniamo is great and very common for boats and trailers to be towed. The road to Port Alberni is nice the whole way without any worries. Be sure to stop at Whiskey C...

Main Sail Crease
I have been sailing my mac 26M since may of this year so relatively new at this. I have just noted a crease in the mainsail when it is up. What should I adjust to get rid of the crease??? I would post a picture but I don't know how. The crease starts just above the Clew and runs about 45 degrees up ...

clanging halyard
:macm: We are mooring our new Mac26M at a local marina for the summer. On windy days with the boat in the slip and the sail down, the mainsail halyard clangs against the mast. Ours seems to be the only boat in the marina making noise. I have tried tightening the halyard slack but it only solves the ...

I am a soon to be new 26M owner. I am wondering what is an appropriate type and size of dinghy for use with the 26M. How is it best stored on board and how difficult is the set up?? Any ideas out there??
