Looks like I have to do some crawling around! I'm wondering if my water is coming in from the bold that maybe held the rubber bumper in place.
I'll post back once I get back. I'm out of town for work the next two weeks.

Re: I'm back...Bimini top and many upgrades
If your masts are straight (not snapped in half like mine and welded by the previous owner) I'd love to get one, but NC is a long way from MI.

Re: Water coming in near keel pivot
Does that mean there are two bolts then? One for locking the keel in place and another for keeping it from swinging too far?SENCMac25 wrote:I think that might be the hole where the bolt that prevents the keel from swing too far forward is supposed to be.

Jib / Genoa rigging
After seeing many other boats out on the lake, some have their jibs & genoas rigged differently at the forward foot. Some have it attached right at the top of the deck, others theirs go up above the bow railing. My Venture has the bow railing and am thinking of raising the rigging so the sale do...

Water coming in near keel pivot
Hello Everyone! I've finally had a chance to really sail the venture out on the water. Having a slip for a whole season really helps! Now that I'm getting more acquainted with the boat I've discovered where I'm taking on water when sailing. If we're going 3-5 knots (sail or motor) or I hit a big wak...

Found a slip for the 2014 Season!
I've put my deposit down on a slip for my Lucitania for the 2014 Season. Now I really will have the chance to get to know her better and really use it! It will be at Torresen Marina on Muskegon Lake, which has direct access to Lake Michigan. :D It does have two clean bathhouses, one with showers. No...

Re: Marina electrical connection
Well, I have successfully used my shoreline power cable this weekend. I secured it to the dock with some unused cleats and it made it all the way to the pop top and I hung the outlet there right over the galley table so I could use my laptop and charge my phone. I slept on the boat in the bow area f...

Re: Raising Mast - alone
Interesting. I picture it being walked up from the stern to the bow, after it has been bolted into place? Would that be correct?
Maybe I'll try tomorrow. I'll have an assistant with me to act as a spotter. I've never tried it by myself, always with someone else there.
Thanks!

Raising Mast - alone
My previous owner said he was able to raise the mast by himself. I cannot for the life of me remember how he said he did it. There is a rope about the length of the mast attached at the top of the mast where the stern forestay is also attached. Anyone have any insight to what he may have been doing?...

Re: Built in Compass / Wasted Space Question
Thanks for clearing up my "anchor" light. The original switch plate says it is an "anchor" light, but as you mentioned, it is apparently a "steaming" light instead. I'll find something 360* for next week, probably battery powered for now. I am just ecstatic that my ligh...

Built in Compass / Wasted Space Question
Now that I have my 3 light switches for the Anchor Light (which I don't think is truly anchor since it's not 360* (?) ), my navigation lights, and interior cabin light almost totally re-wired and fused and switched correctly...What do I do with this compass? I would like to connect it to the Navigat...
