Re: Macgregor Venture 25 OEM jib sail
http://shop.bwyachts.com/default.asp These folks deal with OEM items for old Ventures. Give them a call. I highly recommend you measure your own rig and know your potential sail size before taking sizes from others. You just never know whats been done to that old boat over the years. You also need t...

It really depends on the depth of the waters you plan to frequent.
In the often skinny waters I sail in the kick up rudder is an absolute necessity...

Re: Need replacement mast for a 26s
Don't think you are bound to an original Mac mast because you are not. I lost my mast and replaced it with a mast from a much bigger boat. Its quite a bit heavier but it works just fine. The new mast only need be similiar size to work. I did have to modify the tabernacle a little. I found mine on Cr...

Re: 1985 Mac 25 hull thickness
Many of us have no trouble shooting thru the hull of a Mac.
I slapped my transducer tight in a blob of plumbers putty
and pressed it hard into the floor under the Vberth.
Works fine.

Re: Improving access to deck fitting bolts on a 1985 Mac 25
With thru bolts that are sealed to keep water out..... I don't know how that can be done if the bolt head and fitting on the outside has sealant on it, you have to keep that fastener still and tighten from below, other wise it will leak. I know from much experience that improper bedding of deck fast...

Re: can I use a 9.9 2 stroke motor on my V21
I'm with Freedom. I have essentially the same motor - only its a 1978 Evinrude 15 Long Shaft 'lectric start. I certainly don't need 15 horse and I definitely no longer want a hundred pound motor. I have to lift it around all of the time. I've been eyeing up an extra long shaft 6 HP Tohatsu, they are...

I'm with Hamin. Figure out what you want and rig it your way.
Almost nothing on my old Venture is rigged the way it was built,
I'm setup for single handing in big wind...

Re: Hello fellow Venture sailors!
You have a transom drain plug?
Don't see many of those on sailboats!
A Venture doesn't really have a bilge - just the floor you stand on.
Fix 'er up!
Stop the leaks, get some sails (that was my largest single expense).
I like sausage pepperoni and lots of onion....

Synchronized cardinal grammeters are well known to cause discombobulated keelson rivets.
Everybody knows that (eyeroll)
And turbo entabluators went out with astrocronoplaaids in 1872.
Get with it!
