26x Centerboard Hangs....
Ok so here is my story: I was out in way to big of waves last year and came down on a sand bar a couple miles out and snapped my centerboard clean off in Lake Mi. So I contacted IDA and with the insurance money had them make me a pretty sweet centerboard. I also had them add about 40 lb of weight to...

Re: Swing Keel is gone
Update,
I contacted Rudder Craft and they are going to make me a HDPE with lead in the bottom for 980. BWY has one but I like the idea of HDPE better. It should have a better profile at least. What do you guys think?

Swing Keel is gone
So I was sailing home from the air and water show in Chicago to Waukegan and as blown a bit off course. In 10 foot waves that couple miles off shore sand shoal got closer than I anticipated and then... Snap. I went up and came down heeled and no more keel. The rest of the boat looks fine. Is there a...

Take a look at the new durangos, something like 30 mpg high way. They have that new zf8 trans with 8 gears that drops in 2014. I think that trans will change towing forever.

This is what I'm thinking of getting. I move the boat around a bunch and every time I cut the yard so I don't spit rocks at the mac.

Re: Towing a Dinghy: How much drag?
I have towed a canoe behind my :macm: with little or no drag. I made sure the bow of the canoe was riding just barely up on the top of the wake, it was stable at high speed and very little drag (none I could notice). I mean like pull it out of the water and up on the back of the outboard with the s...

Re: Towing a Dinghy: How much drag?
I'm hijacking this old discussion to ask why not just bring the nose of an inflatable up over the outboard so the back is in the water still floating? Seem like the easiest, but adds some windage.

Re: My kicker install.
So I bought that bracket already and have been getting close to actually doing it but was going to research the forum a bit beofre I jumped in... Here is my questions:
I see that you built a bit of a base, what did you use?
any issues that you ran into that you would do different now?

Re: full cockpit cushions needed
This is on my to do list too. You should definitely check out Joann.com, they have quite a lot of outdoor fabrics, including Sunbrella, and they always have 50% off coupons that you can use towards the purchase. I'm planning to buy all my new foam from them at 50% off and then buy some type of outd...

Re: Coleman Outboard vs. the usual brands
Chinese made by Parsun. What is parts availability and service like from Cabelas? I think I would steer clear I had a friend that bought one for his little boat in 2010 i think. We made a bunch of parts for it when they broke because we couldn't get parts and no mechanics would touch it. and finall...
