Painting stainless steel rudder posts/holders?
Hi, I know we are not meant to paint stainless steel, as it needs to breath to create the protective oxide coating, however, my 26M stays permanently in the water and the corrosion seemed to be slower when it was painted. I purchased the boat second hand and all the stainless steel had originally be...

Re: Daggerboard Damage Advice Please
Hopefully a final update. The new daggerboard arrived safely from Blue Water Yachts, it had been well packed in a wooden crate with bubble-wrap so despite traveling half way round the world it arrived with no damage. I keep the boat on a slip so after anti-fouling and as recommended by Calin at high...

Re: Daggerboard Damage Advice Please
A quick update. Last time I went out I dived down and checked the daggerboard. It was well cracked and a chunk missing from the back. I couldn't believe the damage given the modest impact but perhaps it had been damaged before (the boat is third hand) or perhaps I hit it harder than I thought. Anywa...

Re: Daggerboard Damage Advice Please
Thanks guys, the feedback is much appreciated. The daggerboard is still in place and can be raised/lowered and it's just the back edge that split so as long as it doesn't crack further it should be okay. I'm overseas so it will take time to get a new one and I'd rather have one that breaks and doesn...

Daggerboard Damage Advice Please
Hi, I have managed to drag the daggerboard of my 26M over the seabed for a few seconds and it has cracked along the back edge. My fault as I was being a bit careless in light winds at the end of a long day and despite only doing about 2 knots at the time and only briefly scraping the daggerboard (th...

CDI Turnbuckle Adjustment
Hi Guys, I'm in the process of fitting a new luff to the CDI furler on my 26M. To help with the fitting, does anyone have a guideline regarding how tight the turnbuckle should be tightened when fitting the CDI furler? i.e. roughly how far in should both pins be screwed? e.g. should one be all the wa...
