Someone commented to me before I bought my boat that they had seen a MacGregor doing 15 knots across the water with the mast up and thought it was their imagination. So I named my boat Imagination .

I have also experienced this under conditions of following wind and current. My sense was that when the boat tops a swell it losses weight for a second (like a down elevator starting quickly) and is thus very susceptible to any sort of cross wind at that point. 1. The single axle trailer tows fine - I think the dual is overkille and not really needed. Surge brakes can easily be disabled. 2. I installed an "inside the haul" depth sounder sensor for my Garmin 421 and it works perfectly.
Drilling holes below the water line is something I would not do unless my life depended on it. No holes - no bilge pumps.

What a GREAT Place to Sail a Mac.... I sailed mine down there for about 5 1/2 weeks and was joined by my wife for another week.. Awesome trip!!!
