I love our system. Two tanks for a 35 gallon combined system filled from a single flush deck mount plus infinite non-potable water supply:

Re: Cabin seat cushion for a 97X?
Well, I replaced our cabin cushions in our 97X with new ones and just happened to keep our old ones "just in case" they were needed some day. They were in pretty good condition for being 20 years old but I wanted something a little different and fresh for the cabin. If your interested in t...

Re: Size and type of water tank
We have a combined 35 gallon capacity for fresh water (25/10) using a fixed poly tank under the V-berth and 10 gal bladder under the aft dinette bench. http://svchameleon.weebly.com/pressurized-water-systems.html I don't think we would notice the additional 120 pounds up front in the :macx: but I'm ...

Re: Rudders get jammed, can't steer??
One other thought, although I doubt you have the ladder down in 9" water, on our 97 the ladder will cause the rudders to bind if left in the down position. Just a thought...

Re: Photobucket Fix
I posted this back in September last year: I stumbled across an interesting extension for the Chrome browser that fixes the photobucket hotlink issue. Basically it re-directs the URL causing Photobucket to think it is being accessed directly. You can find it here at: https://chrome.google.com/websto...

Re: Storage Shelter Options
I went with the lifted carport option. I used nine chain link fence posts and post clamps from Home Depot to raise our 12x40' carport to a clearance height of 11', enclosed one end and built a "dock" that we can back the boat up to for ease of loading and unloading. I absolutely love it! Y...

Re: Sail shape - what am I doing wrong?
I started a thread on that subject a while back, but with the Photobucket shenanigans, all the pics are gone. But in short, cutting the bolt rope stitches at the bottom made a big improvement on a stretched sail. Still not a new sail or anything close to that, but better. Or less bad. http://www.ma...

Re: Sail shape - what am I doing wrong?
It's hard for me to tell if it is the photograph or maybe the "stitching" of multiple photos but here is what I would check first. Bolt rope length as mentioned before. The first photo looks like you have excessive mast rake towards the aft of the boat. I'm going to assume your boom isn't ...

Re: Sail log
[quote="Starscream"]I use a 7-year old with a notebook. Log includes wildlife spotted, castles explored, names of the big Lakers seen, fish caught, and exciting events. Pretty much what Starscream said except our kids are a little older now and we use the digital version of a notebook (MS ...

Re: batteries - charge or replace?
All the above posts are valid and NiceAft touches on a good point in that a loose connection or corroded cable may get bounced around or overheated enough to loose contact only to settle or cool after a period of time and re-connect the circuit. Also, I never use the "both" setting on the ...

Re: Turnbuckles and loos gauge
A properly tuned rig will make the sail much better in my experience. I purchased a Loos gauge a few years ago for this purpose, however, I kept the original adjusters. It didn't seem worth it to replace them with turnbuckles.

Re: Trailer tires for 26X?
I replaced all 4 tires last year with Kumhos. With a max load range of 2271 lbs, they had the highest rating of any 14 inch tire I could find. So far I have been very happy with them. Should they begin to fail, I will be replacing them with 15" tires and wheels.

OPTION 4: I have plenty of clearance but remove the wheel anyway just in case I need more.
