Don't forget about Blue Water Yachts. I got my main sail from them and always recommend supporting the Mac dealers first.

Re: Video: 1 Week Trip to Georgian Bay 26M

I got it from BWY. I think they call it a square top performance sail. It is thicker than the stock Mac sail but I can still use my old sail cover on it.

Re: Video: 1 Week Trip to Georgian Bay 26M

I can highly recommend that power sail. It spills the wind nicely on gusts so less lean compared to my old blown out sail. I had it for about 4 yrs already.

Re: Where is everyone?

I stopped visiting the site because the home page did not show the most recent posts. Only today, thanks to this post, did I realized it is hidden in the quick links.

Can we pls make the active topics the home page or get it shown on the move page?

I love this site...let us keep it going.

Re: I hate to say it...

I just made a donation, hopefully the right person receives it. This site is too valuable to end and helps with the resell value of out boats too.

Long live the Macs and this site.

Great!

I have also let a few other Mac owners at the Bronte marina know about this. Looking forward to some Mac on Mac racing action!

Oakville Easter Seals Regatta for non-racers -14 July 2018

I am not a racer and do not belong to a club or have numbers on my sails. But last year I entered the cruising class of this regatta. What a fun event which includes breakfast, racing followed by food and beer and wine! All for a good cause! I was the only Macgregor in in the cruising class and I fi...

Re: Storms on the Chesapeake

I read that two anchors in series hold better than in a V formation. The reason is that each anchor will only experience Half the force at any time. With a V formation, sharing the load between two anchors equally can only happen if the boat in perfectly aligned to the wind, does not swing and rode ...

Re: water ingres by the steering when heeling

Fishyfabs, Excellent post. Glad to be made aware that launching can force the stern low enough to cause water entry at the steering arm and wiring boot under certain conditions. I’ve never stopped at that point during launching to do anything, due to our Ramp General. She takes the ramp fee and giv...

Re: water ingres by the steering when heeling

I once launched the boat and docked it to raise the mast. I noticed that is was listing to one side. I thought it was all the beer in the cooler but when I got into the cabin. I stepped into water. Panic set in as I thought I holed the boat during the launch or the 800km road trip. We frantically pu...

Re: Sailing from Toronto to New York

Avoid going out the gulf of St Law unless u like being in subarctic conditions. Was there 2 summers ago. 6 layers of clothing in early July. Never mind the 8 knot currents and huge tides. We had quite a few close calls. U need to know what u r doing on that body of water.
