Re: Anchoring
Prospect As has been mentioned lots of opinions. I’d start looking at what others in your area use for an anchor. Ask them. I’m on Lake of the Woods Canadian Shield and boreal. We anchor in mostly mud, some sand, usually in protected anchorages. I use a 26# Mantus with 30’ of chain and 170’ of rode....

Re: Additional Batteries on 26M

My AGMs grp 27 start #63 (amidships/port) and a Grp 31 AGM @ 70# mounted to starboard of start battery. My 26M lists to Starboard. They are so close to centre line I doubt if battery placement is the cau...

Re: Standing Rigging Tension?
Hugh, Just to clarify, when you tighten one of those adjusters and you move the male part across the female part, "one hole" means the next pair of holes that line up. That pair is not going to be where the pin originally was. It will likely be a hole or two above or below that spot. The ...

Shortened the starboard inner stay one hole: New readings: Outer Port outer 520 starboard outer 470 Inner port 240 inner starboard 200# Not sure how to adjust outers for any less tension in that I've only shortened the stay one hole. Is there any 1/2 measure I could do? That sounds like a lot of ad...

I would like to put an AIS VHF radio in the dinette overhead and run a coax up the mast to an antenna but I don't know what antenna to put up there or how to attach it - (I don't even know what kind of coax wire to buy...

Re: Mast wiring
OK reviving this thread for 2017: 2012 :macm: and I've purchased a fixed VHF and a Shakespeare 5215CX antennae that comes with 60' of RG8X coax. Did later :macm: have the "channel" like RussMT found to fish coax or did you have to use the PVC option? How does one get coax outside the Mast ...

Re: winter cover for 26M
I use a custom tarp from https://goo.gl/photos/j9hX2tZwPzyL3U2j6 Tumacs covers. From http://thesailwarehouse.com/cgi-bin/web_store_TSW.cgi?page=canvas.html We moved our :macm: from AB with lots of winter wind which kept the tarp clear of snow to NW Ontario with lots of snow. To address the sag point...
