Re: Sailing Sandy Straits, some questions
Hi Dennis, Just thought We drop in to see how things were going with you. Great to see you are heading up our way. The only thing when you stay at any of the anchorage's in the Great Sandy's is don't forget your inset spray. The midge's and mozzies will carry you away. As for your dog when staying a...

Re: 2017 off to a great start
Hi Dennis, That's great news on the new job for 2017. As for us, we are now retired, lots of time to go boating, when the weather lets us. Hope the weather is kind for your sail south. When you get some time to get up our way, drop us a line to catch up some where in the "Great Sandy's" Ch...

Hi Kevin, We are on the Fraser Coast, and it's not well known by many that Lady Elliott Island is the best place to go snorkeling, it is 80 k's off the Bundaberg coast just north of Fraser Island. The Island is very small but you can get there by airplane from the Gold Coast direct to the Island and...

New Home
Hi every one, Our :macm: has gone to a new home, sad to see her go :( , but she will be well loved at her new port. We are sure we will see her on the water in the future, for we haven't given up boating all together, just a change in course. We will drop in from time to time to see how you are all ...

Re: Trailer Upgrade to Dual Axle's
Paul, The boat tow's really well, track's so much better and there is no flex in the trailer, thank heavens for our Qld roads are a atrociously rough in places. A single axle breaking system has a legal limit of 2200 kg, so I am told by QLD Transport. We could have all four wheel's breaking with the...

Re: Trailer Upgrade to Dual Axle's
Hi Paul, We kept the original braking system which already has a break away. Breaking is on the front axle, the second is a floating axle, both axle's are on rocker-rollers all new springs, ford wheels and hubs matched the USA ones. The trailer has now an aggreate trailer mass of 2000 kg. All the pa...

Trailer Upgrade to Dual Axle's
Hi Everyone, As I mention on another thread that we are up grading our original trailer to a dual axle. Well it's done and it only took a week to get it done locally. First thing to do was to get the boat & trailer weighed, we stripped out the entire boat leaving only the house & start batte...

Re: Also looking to buy a 26M
Hi Barry, Regarding the rotating mast on an :macm: , we have ours in the fixed position, for you do have the option on the :macm: to either have it in the fixed or rotating position. We won't be on the water this weekend for our trailer is getting an upgrade to tandem axle's at the moment. We should...

Re: Who knows (and sails) the Sandy straits?
Hi Dennis, Have a look at this web site. parks.nprsr.qld.gov.au should give you the info you want, But I do know, NO domestic animals are permitted on Fraser, not even in a 4x4 vehicle. Your boat is a different matter. Just do what other boaties do, be quick when the dog has to go! Also keep a watch...

Hi Stan, We would have like to had caught up you and shown you around the Great Sandies, we could have arranged a Mac regatta  but unfortunately the Misses at Easter fell on our :macm: and broke her leg, which cut our week to ten days sailing from Tin Can Bay to Hervey Bay and back very short,...

ANYONE ON THE WATER THIS EASTER?
What to do this Easter break? Now that Tropical Cyclone Ita has been down graded to a low and moving away from the east coast, we might think about going out on the water for a few days of R & R. Our :macm: is ready and willing to hit the water and mingle with the rest of the crowd that will be ...

Like in your area it is raining and there is a strong wind warning for Fraser Island area today. When the weat...
