Re: Passing (dropping) of the torch

my thoughts are, i wonder if the public/consumer would be willing to pay a bit more for a boat with better design and finish. Or is this class and style of boat, sliding into obscurity? I saw the tatoos were 26000 USD, so thats trailer, main, some cushions. what else? i know when i bought my :macm: ...

Re: 26M Galley Mod Feasibility Question

i have an m with a sliding galley. i have experienced a bit of sand in our bed from the steps, had always planned to either put a canvas trough or a plywood backing to the steps. i hear you on the size of the head in the :macm: one day maybe i will do the mod i have always wanted to do, which is to ...

Re: Yet Another Galley Mod

lift and pull draw catches! couldnt be cheaper! there is a raised wooden cross member across the drawer recess just behind the face- and the drawer has a widthwise corresponding slot/recess! when the drawer is closed- everything is snug and tight- to open the drawer, you lift the drawer so that the ...

Re: Yet Another Galley Mod

did you get your latches sorted out.? i like the lift and pull system that works on many larger sailing vessels, and doesnt cost much! :) wont stop the drawers coming out in a knock down, but i think you may have bigger problems to deal with in said event, than worrying about the drawers, and yer kn...

Re: How would you design a trailerable power sailor?

. . . and an unstayed cat schooner rig. How does one step and unstep an unstayed cat rig on such a big trailer boat, unless it's done conventionally with a crane or derrick? i think it has its challenges, one may still need to use a MRS and tabernacles. but with carbon masts being a lot lighter, an...

Re: How would you design a trailerable power sailor?

my dream trailer sailer is 33' by 10'.
more traditional styling, pilothouse!
with our unique hull we are working on, better planing performance, better sailing performance.
set up with twin outboards for redundancy, and an unstayed cat schooner rig.
with asymmetrical bilge/ lee boards

Re: High Sides

I agree with boat, i actually prefer to "reverse park" the boat, its a lot easier than trying forwards, i also run a bow line( outside the shrouds :) ) back to the helm, and have a stern line ready with it as well, , and i can step off in a dignified manner and simply snug the boat up! As ...

Re: Sliding galley

one of the first mods i did, besides resolving the unequal steering, was to change the galley hose, to its own thru hull, stop cock and a smooth bore hose, so that it drained better and didnt plug up with food debris. so now the motor well has its own drain hose, with a thru- hull in the motor well,...

Re: Hard top Dodger

1st yup still working on that. needing to build up funds as i go along. a 5' model was built of the :macm: and also one of the proposed boat hull, they are going to be tested in a wave/tow tank. once the hull configuration is all figured, then its onto the "easy" stuff of designing the res...
