No one tried one of these? Even doubles as a wind generator:

Re: SAFETY TIP: properly label your heel-meter!
But the :macm: boats are problematic there. Someone here came up with a gizmo, I think, to allow the use of an apparent wind direction indicator of some sort on an :macm: , presumably electronic. The reference would have to be held to the centerline of the boat somehow. Perhaps someone remembers it...

Re: Honda BF50 alternator upgrade options?
I do have an 80W panel, but even under full sun it only averages about 65W. Any kind of shadow (ie. the main sail) and it drops rapidly. I haven't had a chance to really use it as it's been rainy here almost every day for the last month, but I suspect I'll only average around 200-300Wh/day, which w...

Re: Rudder 2:1
Hammers' system means running them straight back, then measuring the parallax difference. Oh, PS, I can't find Hammers System in the search any idea where his post is? Its not a "system", just the way I described on the last forum page. :) You only need a laser level (15$ at Home Depot), ...

Re: Rudder 2:1
How do I check them? How to check: - with the boat ashore, bring it to a horizontal position (put a level on the cabin floor) - use a laser level, and going horizontal from the bottom of the boat mark both rudders leading and trailing edges - now measure between the markings you just made, and hope...

Re: Rudder 2:1
Perhaps one of my rudder is out of adjustment? it definitely sounds like it. If the rudders aren´t perfectly parallel, they have to shoulder tremendous loads. A friend of mine had this on his Catamaran, one fine day one of the rudders simply broke away, and upon inspection the other one wouldn´t ha...

Re: Mac 26 Classic - Genoa Sheets
Is a traveler necessary for the genoa? I cant find any information on how others have their sheets setup. Like Hamin`X said, for a genoa they´re called tracks. Those are especially handy, when your jib/genoa is on a roller furler. I get way better sailshape when the genoa is partially rolled up, wh...

Do you have a picture and/or part number on what scoop you use?cptron wrote:We use the wind scoop to channel air in through the front hatch and I discovered that this decreases the swinging on anchor by approximately 80 to 90%.
