Re: Sailing to Bimini and then to Berry Islands Bahamas
Attatch your Q flag to the starboard shroud with zip ties when you are approaching Bimini. After you clear customs (at Big Game Club),then immigration(further down the street at police station building),you can strike the Q flag and attach the Bahamas courtesy flag to the same location. Keep in mind...

Re: Sailing to Bimini and then to Berry Islands Bahamas
Consider crossing from Angelfish Creek, south of Biscayne Bay. It will make your crossing easier in the Gulfstream current. I highly recommend Browns Marina in N. Bimini,as the best bargain and nice folks. Tell Humphrey or Goshio that "Spice" sent you 8) Bimini Sands on S Bimini is also rea...

Re: Winter in the Bahamas
Greetings Fellow Mac Sailors! Well, here we are in Chub Key Marina (great marina, great, but pricey restaurant, crappy showers and laundry, and 2.75/ft=ouch). We left Bimini at 4AM,and motored into the wind for 81 miles, gettin the crap kicked out of us. Not a fun day, arriving at Chub at 7PM. We anchored ...

Re: Winter in the Bahamas
Hello Fellow Mac Sailors! Still sitting here on the dock in N. Bimini, but we'll be leaving for the lee side, near Bimini Bay this afternoon on the slack tide. That will get us out of this neverending East wind thats been bouncing us off the dock for days. The plan is to head across the banks at 4AM o...

Greetings Fellow Macgregor sailors! I'm sitting here on the floor of the Bimini Ministry of Tourism's outside kiosk, where there's fast free wi-fi. Re: Winter in the Bahamas
Hello Fellow Macgregor sailors! The crossing went as as planned, and we are now enjoying the warm Bimini breezes. We went to Angelfish Creek, and anchored there,in hopes of finding other cruisers waiting to cross. No other boats there, although there were a few in the lee of Pumpkin Key. No responses o...

Re: Winter in the Bahamas
eHello All! We're currently in Key Largo visiting friends(fellow Mac owners who conveniently have a dock in their back yard). The trip down the ICW was very interesting. First day,8 miles down the OWW heading towards Stuart, our GPS decided to expire. Then it worked sporadically, not a wiring issue,but...

Re: Winter in the Bahamas
Greetings fellow Mac owners! We are sitting in a slip at the Indiantown Marina. This is a great place, very laid back friendly vibe, and at $1.00 a foot,it can't be beat. Everyone here is in some stage of preparing to head for the Abacos and/or Exuma,so everyone has a boat project under way. This plac...

Re: Florida Keys trip Dec.29th
On the subject of marina rates,we chose Indiantown Marina because our friends keep a boat there, and the long term parking rate is $50.00 per month for truck and trailer.
I got quote in So Florida of $200-300/month for long term parking. 300/mo x4 mos =Ouch!

Re: Florida Keys trip Dec.29th
Hello Dave, Please give us an after action debrief so I can live vicariously through you. The wife and I want to sail from NC to the Keys, but MAC-A-TAC requires a few more modes to bring her up to snuff in the admirals eyes things like hot water, AC you know the drill. Anyway, have a safe and fun ...

We'll be going Southbound on the ICW to Key Largo, before going to Angelfish Creek. Might see you on the water, depending on the weather. where are you leaving from ? We will launch from Indiantown Marina on the Okeechobee waterway, and travel south on the ICW. We'll be hanging ot with friends in Key ...
