Re: Trawler conversion
The boat I have is a 1980 model. The red hull pic is a very late model and while I would love that, I certainly can't afford it. I do have a friend with a blue hull 2006 model powered by single 370 HP Yanmar Diesel. He has bow & stern thrusters. Interior floor plan is same as mine, although much...

Trawler conversion
Time to bid all a farewell, after reading so much about the trawler wanna-be's, and thinking about it for a long time, I have decided to make the plunge. I have purchased a real 34' trawler with central heat, air, a walk-in shower, full galley with hot water, and diesel power. It also has a 6.5 KW d...

Mast light Bulb
My mast light quit working, I removed the bulb with intentions of replacing it, but have lost the bulb.
Does anyone have the correct bulb number for replacement. (2000 26X)
Thanks,
Tim

Forestay
Does anyone use a forestay along with their roller furler to fly both jib and genoa at the same time?

Adding a 12V light in head
I found a 12V ceiling light from a 26X on eBay and was able to get it. I would like to mount it on the ceiling in the head. Has anyone done this? I am curious if there is any wiring in the ceiling in the head area I might tap into for 12V power before I start cutting and drilling holes in the ceilin...

Re: 26x mast raising kit
Thanks Tom, that all sounds pretty reasonable and makes a lot more sense to me.
I was kicking around the idea of getting the M style conversion from BWY, but would like to try what I have first.
Thanks again,
Tim

26x mast raising kit
I have a stock 2000, 26x with roller furler, set up with 150 genoa and std 26x mast raising kit. I kept the boat in a Marina on the Tennessee River last season and the on initial launch I had loads of manpower available to raise the mast. Same deal when we took it out of the water in first of Nov. I...

I hate the OEM blue carpet in my X
I found a patio & garage are rug at Lowes as kind of a dark charcoal gray color for about $20. It is supposed to be for indoor/outdoor use so should work OK. Easily cut to size with sharp scissors. Looks a lot better than that blue stuff, but still not completely satisfied. Has anybody tried lam...

Re: what do you use to remove black mold stains
I found a product called On & Off Hull and Bottom cleaner at Bass Pro shop that I bought a year ago to clean the bottom of my boat. I never used it since I changed my mind and decided to apply new bottom paint. It states it will not damage gel coat on the container, apply with soft brush and rin...

Re: what do you use to remove black mold stains
???
The problem is located on the rear of my 26x, on fiberglass starrboard side above ladder.
They are mold/mildue stains from marina. Parked in shade?
Didn't notice it much last year.
Would like to get it under control.

Re: I need advice on a buying a 26x!!!!!!!!!!
I went through the same decision making process as you about a year ago. Can't really add much to what has been said here, but after seeing everything and researching all this info, I decided to limit my selection to 2000 or newer. Many 99's have most or all of the upgrades, but being new to sailing...
