Re: maccutter19

Its been a bigger project than I first thought Ahh, the joys of re-designing and building your own boat! Glad to hear it's going well though. :) I knew I've been offline quite awhile, but my post above makes me realize I haven't been around since August! My how time flies... Take care. Kevin

Agree on the fraud aspect. Lots of listings indicate the second chance offers are not legit.

Next thing you know they'll be asking for the money via Western Union. I say run...

Hey Jayne -- I have a :mac19: and agree it is a great boat. The standard hatch holder is a bit of a pain though. I experimented one season with some wing nuts on it for quick removal, but just opted for a better (spring-type) adjuster in the end. Some other folks have experimented with pop-tops, etc...

John, That pedestal looks cool! I kind of wish I'd have waited for the new model now... Course I didn't know it was coming, so there wasn't much of a choice. Anyway, I hope the mod is coming along well -- post some more pictures when you have a chance. I've been offline most of the summer, but am lo...

I've never been able to tell for sure on the draft with ballast in, but it doesn't look to be over a couple inches -- four at the most -- in my humble guessing... As for steering, I'm not sure slugglish is the right word. There's a lot of freeboard, so it can be sloppy when docking in the wind, as I...

What the heck are these called? Are where do I buy them?

I added some extra holes in the cockpit of my :mac19: while doing some mods, and now I need to find a nice way to conceal them. Our boat already has a few little white plastic / rubber/ foam (not sure which really) plugs in a number of pre-existing holes -- but for the life of me I can't find anythi...

One more thing... Before you decide the mast is missing, take a look inside. Rememberm the :mac19: mast breaks into two parts for internal storage.

It might just be a diamond in the rough!

Steve, it definitely sounds like a :mac19:. I've had people mistake ours for an :macx: before -- until I got close to them. If (and that's a Big IF) the hull is sound and the mast is okay, the boat should still be worth something. I'd look it over and then ask the owner what he wants for it myself. ...

Many thanks to Rich (Hamin'X) for setting up the back-up board. It was very handy during the recent outage here!

Based on the number of posts in the last two weeks it looks like a alot of folks agree!

Thanks Rich!

I think it's a great idea. You could use a simple setup like an X-10 camera linked to a low cost LCD. Or if you have one of the new fancy chartplotters, a lot of them have video input. Seems very workable to me. I like the idea of having a mast cam pointed down at the cockpit. You could capture stil...
