Re: Considering a Mac 26s
John - My name is John. I moved up to a 26S from my O'Day Daysailor II. I absolutely love this boat. I am 71 and it suits my needs perfectly. I have a main, jib, genoa and assymetrical spinnaker. I use a tiller autopilot. Great boat for the money.
You will love it.

Original foam for a 26S
Can anyone tell me where Macgregor installed factory foam on a 26s? Does anyone still have this foam?

I just can't believe it...
I live in SW Wisconsin. Two weeks ago, I pulled my boat out of storage. The day before yesterday, I was sitting on top of my boat working on a project with my jacket off. The warm sun was beating down, all the snow was gone - life was good. POW - six inches of snow last night and this morning. Guess...

Bottom Paint
I have a 1992 26S. Does anyone know what the black bottom paint was used by the factory on my boat?
I would like to touch it up, not repaint the whole bottom.
Thanks.

Water Ballast pump out
Has anyone set up a rig to pump out the 150 gallons of water ballast in the event of an unwanted grounding?
I believe in the old sailing days, the cannons were dumped over board as they were part of the ships ballast.

I'm originally from Chicago. We take a differant approach. You must be sure that the anchor is tightly secured around their legs after you catch them and drop them overboard.

Re: Scuppers
Let me revise my post... My concern is not in calm weather. While both scuppers are above the water line, consider the rear scupper for the cockpit drain. If the hose gets knocked in bad weather and water enters the rear storage area, well - I will leave it to your imagination. That is, if it filled...

Scuppers
I have a Macgregor 26S that has two scuppers, one for the sink and one to drain the cockpit. While they are just above the waterline, it occurred to me that if one of the inside hoses broke, in rough weather you could take on water. This was of particular concern to me in the rear storage area. Ther...

MAC 26S Factory Bottom Paint...
When I purchased my boat 2nd hand, it had a factory applied (I believe) black colored undercoating. I would like to touch it up. Does anyone know what undercoating Macgregor used?

26S dining table snaps...
Can anyone tell me the type and/or size of the snaps used on the dining table. Also, can anyone describe the fasteners used to secure them. Any close up pictures would really be a help. I want to go back to the original. My boat didn't come with the table pieces.

Macgregor 26S OEM Info
Can anyone tell me more about the original collapsing water storage jug offered on my Macgregor 26s? What can I use as a replacement if I acquire the pump for the sink?
Also, what were the dimensions of the OEM ice chest and where was it stored?
Thanks!
