Re: Reasonable Price for a 19'?
I've seen them as low as $3000 with no motor needing a lot of TLC, and up to about $8000 with motor, everything in near-perfect condition. I have an ebay tracker for Mac sailboats, and about 1 comes up per year. They do sell fast at whatever price.

Wow. All the disadvantages of a trailerable sailboat, with few of the benefits.

I can't help with your question, but sure would like to see your mast-raising system.

Re: How to Safely Beach the Boat?
What do you think of installing a Shrader valve next to the vent hole, to make it easy to connect an air pump? Schraeder valves are for high pressure, low volume, so it's going to take a loooooong time to pump the ballast out with one, if it can even be done. You could remove the valve for unobstru...

Re: How to Safely Beach the Boat?
Being able to beach it is the main reason I bought my 26-S. I haven't tried it yet. But I think I would want a way to pump out the ballast tank if necessary when it's time to leave. It's super easy and only takes a few minutes to pump out your ballast using a 12v air mattress pump. I only tried it ...

Re: Cutting out for alcohol stove
I buy 96% ethanol in Mexico, no denaturing in it. It's from sugar cane. The poor in Mexico do drink it, adding it to soda or something. But Tequila isn't much more expensive. Are there any countries besides the USA where the government would rather kill its citizens rather than allow them a way to g...

Cutting out for alcohol stove
I acquired a 1-burner Origo 2000 alcohol stove that I want to install in the galley. What are the best tools for cutting the fiberglass so I can drop it into the countertop? I have an oscillating tool with wood/plastic blade, and a 4 1/2" grinder with abrasive blade for steel. It will be a squa...

Re: Mac 26S new owner stantion repair
Maybe take the bolt out from the outside and drill a pilot hole from the outside, then use the pilot hole to drill a new access hole from the inside. The access-hole covers are a stock item.

Re: Question about a Keel on a MacGregor 26s
I have a MacGregor 26s, the cable on the swing keel needs replaced. I have removed the keel just wondering if the hole where the cable goes through the keel is supposed to have anything in there besides the cable and bolt to keep it in place. If so, where would be the place to get this part? Thanks...

Re: Leaking ballast drain valve 26D
I was afraid too until I saw what the whole assembly looked like. Before that, I wondered what hardware might be inside (none). Putting it back in from underneath, you have to blindly poke the shaft until you find the hole it goes through on the upper side. I imagine you could thread a string throug...

Re: Leaking ballast drain valve 26D
I was checking my ballast tank while on the trailer and noticed the drain valve was leaking a little when closed tight. Crud between the valve gasket and hull fiberglass. How do I clean it? I can't open the valve wide enough to clean between the valve surfaces. I'm afraid to open it too much and dr...
