Re: Pics of companionway conditioning mod?

A little 5000 BTU a/c from walmart will work better than an 8000 unit with the hoses. We got a billy box for our X and we like it as you can stand on it as you enter the cabin. I looked for a picture but could not find one.

Re: New Owner / Member With Questions

We usually travel as a motor boat so we usually have our enclosure on so my wife made a name banner that hangs on the stern wall of the enclosure. She used the same sunbrella as the enclosure and she has sewn it to the top of the enclosure. If you look close you can see it in this photo. This way bo...

Re: Swing Keel rope replacement

We are finishing today with our new anti-foul. We built a bracket that fits the back 6 inches of the boat. We lower the front of the trailer all the way to the concrete which puts the back of the trailer up in the air. We then put our wood bracket on top of two concrete blocks,so the last 6 inches o...

Re: Routing Electrical Wire 26x - What type of black magic does this require?

I ordered all new plugs from I think blue Water Yachts. We used a stiff, metal putty knife to take the old ones out but many of them broke. So we replaced all of them. The old ones were really yellow.

Re: Adding Storage

When we bought our boat just like Starscream we found out all the foam under the v-berth was covered in black mold. It also had a bad odor. So we removed it and used bleach/water mixture to clean the hull and partitions under the v-berth. This got rid of the mold and odor. By the way we threw all th...

Re: Worst weather and waves

JimmyT we enjoyed meeting Travis and Kathy on our first loop. We were in a hurry this past year to get to Pensacola for a small family emergency. So we did not call them this time as we passed through.

Re: Seakeeper 1 for boats 23 - 30 feet

Went on a friends 50 ft Sabre which had one or something like it. Takes 45 minutes to spin up and 4 hrs to spin down. When it is on the boat in 2 ft waves just sits there. Tide, wind, waves when he hits the buttons, boat sits like on a pond and doesn't move more than 1 ft in any direction. Nice when...

Mac Owners are the best

When we were in Montreal last summer we called Starscream and he said he wanted to ride through the Lachine Canal with us as a passenger so he could enjoy as he is always the boat captain on his boat. We had a blast talking as we rode through the canal. We ended the day at his marina where we stayed...

Re: Worst weather and waves

Thanks for the comments. If this site had been up when we came through Mobile, Jimmyt maybe we could have come up the Dog River to see you. Chinook we hope to not ever add to our sea story list again, and thanks for the welcome home Herachel. Ixneigh the Macs for sure are not the greatest trawlers. ...

Worst weather and waves

When we first returned home from our trip this site was not working well, so we didn't post for a while. When we crossed the northern gulf from Alligator Point Florida to Steinhatchee Florida we encountered the worst weather and waves we have ever been in on a crossing. This is about a 65 mile cross...
