I posted a few mods the other day for a Mac 25:
Mainsheet traveler (I see lots of questions on this)
Lines led aft (figured one more contribution can't hurt)
Electrical overhaul
Thanks for allowing us all to share. I know I've learned a lot from other Mac owners in the last year.

Hi Scott, Welcome aboard! I hope you find the sailing manners of your Mac to be as well as I've found mine. I can't complain about the ease of handling and frequently sail single-handed. Now that I've been sailing her for about five to six weeks, I find that the simplicity of the boat is what I like...

Other than checking over the hull real good for cracks or scrapes, I don't know what else you'd do, maybe take a good look at standing and running rigging for wear and see if anything needs to be replaced. Might not hurt to crawl back to the transom with a flashlight and mirror and make sure you don...

Thanks for the link to Harken Store, I'm impressed with the computer calculator for various items. Unfortunately, I don't have near the space at the point where you mounted your traveller. The keel winch is bolted through, then there's maybe a couple of inches before the bulkhead drops off to the co...

Here's a question I'd posted on the Macgregorowners forum- On my M-25, I have cam cleats and fairleads on cars on the sides of the cockpit coaming which allows the Genoa sheets to be run outside the shrouds and goes over the lifeline. Yesterday, I sailed with my working jib (yep, using hank-on head ...

First time we sailed my M25, it took about 30 to 45 minutes to rig everything in the dry storage yard (raising mast, assembling boom, fitting the sails and sheets, installing the rudder). I think we were under sail in about 15 minutes after loading it in. After that sail, I left the rigging in place...

Oreana- One mod I'm thinking of for my M-25 is a main sheet traveller, looking around my cockpit, there's only a couple of options, one is to locate it in front of the companionway, or to somehow build a couple of stanchions over the tiller and lay it in at the back of the mast. I don't like the ide...

Not exactly completely up, it's more like 45 deg. to the water line. The up-haul/down-haul is clumsy in my opinion. To keep it from wind-vaning and to make it one less thing to think of prior to leaving the dock, I put an Ida-Sailor delrin stay pin in and leave it in the water. I've found that if I ...

We've got our boat at Oolagah Lake about 30 minutes NE of Tulsa, Ok. Labor Day weekend was about as busy as the other three or four prior to it. Oolagah is a Corps Of Engineers lake, which means private development is not permitted and there is only one marina on the lake, so that keeps traffic down...

Boom Kicker For Mac 25?
Has anyone tried to adapt the 26M or 26X boom kicker to the Mac 25? It looks like an interesting piece and the benefits are obvious to me.

Bimini Top For Mac 25
I've seen the Softtopper Bimini for the 26 series boats, but does anyone know if there is a ready-made kit for Mac/Venture 25's out there?

Greetings all, My wife and I acquired a 1985 Mac 25 a month ago. I had a Sunfish when I was younger and spent many-a-summer on it. I narrowed my search down to this particular Mac 25 and a Catalina 22, I wanted a trailerable boat for certain. For one thing, I figured if I started out with a 22, I'd ...
