Re: Land Macgregor spotted
Thanks. I really appreciate your information and advice. I use to navigate in US using a Lowrance 4x HDI but I think that wont help me in Mexico. What do you use to navigate?

Re: Land Macgregor spotted
Do you know the condition of the road? Im looking for a place to stay this February. I want to stay in airbnb's with WiFi (Working) Monday to Thursday and sail the rest of the week. My first idea was driving from Dallas to Mulege, Loreto and La Paz. But my biggest concern is the condition of the roa...

Baja California
Im planning a trip driving to La Paz, Baja California. Launching the boat in Loreto and La Paz. I need to be connected to Internet most of the time, so Im thinking about renting an airbnb and use the sailboat 2 or 3 days every time. Does anybody has experience in the area? How difficult is to find a...

Re: What is the minimum HP recommendation for a 26D
I have a 26S and I love the 2 stroke tohatsu 8 with starter and generator. I think 99% of the time I use it at max 60% of his power. But sometimes docking or putting the boat in the trailer needs more power. Its heavy but still under my limit. I also have a Tohatsu 8 without starter for my dinghy th...

Re: Is this the boat for me?
If you are not thinking in a big engine why not a 26s? 2 years ago I had a laser2. I had a lot of fun, but I wanted something bigger where I can sleep, easy to prepare and sail single handed. After some research I decided the Macgregor 26 was the best choice. At that time a macgregor 26 X or M was a...

Re: Weak links in the macgregor
Im having the same dream. One day, checking what could be the nightmare, I focused on the crossing of the Gulf Stream. If the best way to pass is with no wind, the engine wont have a backup. I decided to attach an additional engine mount for the dinghy motor. That also makes easier to move the engin...

Re: 140lb 9hp long tail motor for emergency kicker?
I had the same idea dive4it had. I have a tohatsu 8hp stored in the front of the boat (I dont use the triangular bed in the front) in case that the main engine fails. That helps a lot on balancing the weight of the trailer. (The mac26s trailer needs weight in the front). It weighs 60 pounds that is ...

Re: Any MacGregors on Eagle Mountian Lake Ft. Worth Texas?
I live in Hurst, but I have my sailboat (M26s) south Fort Worth. I use to sail at Grapevine lake every two weeks. I really enjoy full moon nights there. If you want, we can plan something for next full moon night. Katies wood should be really close to Euless. I really recommend visiting Grady one da...

Blue Angels will practice may 29 and 30. I loved watching them while I was sailing near Fort Pickens.

Re: Places to visit before Bimini
Thanks guys for the suggestions. I never heard about 1000 islands. Im excited that I have a new place to discover. Maybe I can sail in both places. Those don't look too far. Maybe I can start in key largo, using marinas while I learn how to survive without services and then travel to 10.000 islands....

Places to visit before Bimini
I have had my Mac26s for a little more than a year and I have sailed in lakes around Dallas, Port Aransas/Corpus Christi, Biloxi/Cat Island and Pensacola Bay. I have slept only in marinas. I want to take a week o two to sail around one ore two areas in Florida to learn more and prepare a trip for ne...
