Re: Fiberglass and rub rail repair advice
I do, however, have a follow-up question: my trailer tongue weight seems to be very heavy. Either the boat is sitting too far forward or the trailer wheels are too far back. Given that it is a 2014 trailer, I would think one of the previous owners would have noticed this. Perhaps I am just being ov...

Re: Macgregor 26x. Correct prop for repower 60hp bigfoot
I just purchased a 26x, wanted something newer so decided to get a 2015 merc 60hp high output Bigfoot. 20inch shaft , any guidance on a correct prop would be greatly appreciated! I have both a 14 x 9 and a 14 x 10. Tried them both on my Mercury BF60, the 10 performs better than the 9. Running at 45...

Re: Adding second battery, 1,2 combo switch and ACR
Sorry for the delay in replying. Hope you are still on the forum and have your boat. I have the older version of the ACR and last fall reinstalled the dual battery set up with the battery selector switch. I also installed the battery maintainer from blue water yachts and shore power so we can start ...

Re: Dimensions of 26M on its Trailer
Thanks for the great pic Neo. I What I do need to consider is longer towing alternatives. I have a Jeep Wrangler which has a max tongue weight of ~350lb and a max towing capacity of 3,500lb - 5,000lb. My long tow would be from Texas to Florida (so no mountain passes or elevation changes). Does anyo...

Re: Thinking about Flaming Gorge
Inland waters in general are subject to strong winds and sudden changes in direction. The high elevation adds to the challenge. I do enjoy poking into new places though. I'll check out Strawberry and maybe see you out there some time. I agree Flaming Gorge is near the top of my list of achievable d...

Re: SF Bay Puttering About
Thanks for sharing. I have and use a boom kicker, came with the boat from the PO. Seems to work well. I also like the 3 way valve idea and and shake and pour pancakes! Can’t wait to take a similar trip. Very encouraging to hear about yours.

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy
Congrats on the boat and new adventures. We have camped on ours as well found the fiberglass buys more time in the AM before it gets too hot. My brother was bailing out of the tent at 730am while we were comfortable well towards 9am. There is a good vehicle conversation in the trailering thread so w...

Re: Are there Lake Powell People on this Site?
I had to cancel my trip because of COVID quarantine restrictions in New Mexico. Looking forward to a trip next year somewhere-- Powell is still high on the list. By then I may even have a Snark to play with --- sailing when I'm not sailing.

Re: Vertical Thermocline?
I saw a similar line when I took a sailing class at Saint Andrew Bay Florida-- we popped out into the Gulf of Mexico and there was a distinct line between the fresh and sea water.

Re: Are there Lake Powell People on this Site?
I was supposed to arrive at Lake Powell last night. Unfortunately the Governor put in a 14 day quarantine requirement if you go out of state so that would mean taking 3 weeks off of work. So now sitting around the house for vacation but trying to figure out how I can "fake" raise my sail i...
