Great site, and thank you!
If money is a concern, why is there no advertising on the site?

2003 Honda 50 trim motor replacement
Hi Everyone, Past few times I started to hear my trim motor really struggling when i knew it was getting power. Then it stopped working, then it starts then it stops. Sounds like its dying/dead? Marina says honda doesn't make the part anymore but they found another one for 150 and it will take 4-5 h...

Re: Helm failure 2001 26x
Mine popped the other day too. For me, a bolt wiggled loose that connected the arm of the steering system to the attachment point on the starboard side of the stern (where the cable goes into the boat). I got another bolt and nut and tightened it up!

Re: Macgregor 26x steering limits
As a follow up, my difficulties 100% were coming from not securing the rudders in the down position. Feels like an entirely different boat. One that I have MUCH more faith in! Thanks.

Re: Macgregor 26x steering limits
And I still need to figure out what's bending these brackets up .. that is not normal right? I'm sure it helps and is better to disconnect the engine while under sail but I don't think thats the problem. Steering In those conditions was doable but it probably took literally 10x the physical effort o...

Re: Macgregor 26x steering limits
I totally agree, a broad reach, full main, 100 of the 150 genoa with 20mph winds got me to 7-8 knots of speed which was definitely the most alive ive seen the boat.
I did not have the rudders locked down. I would lovvvve for this to be the issue.

Re: Running wire for anchor light down 26x mast
OK, well that certainly makes sense... It seems like it'll be pretty challenging to get that tape out of tiny hole after traveling down the mast but If its been done Im sure ill get it. I plan to wire it up to a perko male deck plug, same as the steaming light and just use the existing deck plug. Th...

Re: Macgregor 26x steering limits
Yes, thats the bracket I'm talking about.. in that picture, the end closest to the left that connects with the steering arm is what always seems to bend upwards.
Yes, the motor is attached to the steering, no way to disengage.
My boat is a 2003 with the newer stainless steel brackets.

Running wire for anchor light down 26x mast
Hi, I've tried to do my research on this here and the internet and can't seem to find clear information. How in the world do I run wire down and inside the mast for an anchor light? How can I snake the wire down the whole thing? When I do get the wire all the down how would I get it out of the mast!...

Macgregor 26x steering limits
Hi Everyone, I've had my Macgregor 26x for 3 years and absolutely love it. I keep my boat in Long Island, NY about an hour outside of Fire Island Inlet. The majority of time the conditions are about 20-25 mph with 2-3 foot waves. I feel that this is about the most the boat can comfortably handle. I ...
