Re: Routing Electrical Wire 26x - What type of black magic does this require?

Recently did my 19. I used 60# mono... tied off to one end of the old wiring and pulled it through. I pulled it all back towards the fuse panel. This allowed me to pull the new wiring back through to the opposite direction. I used the mono because I had it on hand and figured it wouldn't break... Goo...

Re: Advice needed

Its kinda weird, I used to rip it up pretty hard in our smaller Chris Craft (186 Scorpion) and she'd just hold on and grin. And I know she likes to rip it up in my Boxster because I've had to pay her tickets :x For some reason she is pretty nervous on the :mac19: I think she just needs more cockpit ...

Re: Advice needed

I am very much a just get out there and do it kind of person. However... lately I've been trying a new approach to life. I figured if I took some courses the wife would be more at ease and I have found I enjoy learning as much as I can about my hobbies. As for the off season part, I plan on spending...

Advice needed

So I find myself at 52 a full time college student graduating in December. The wife and I would like to do the ASA101 and 103 courses somewhere in the south (We are in New England) in January. Can anyone recommend some place south of New England that will have classes in January that won't cost thre...

Re: No mast, I've gone solar...(With gas engine backup)

Really digging your setup. Do you think adding a wind turbine would help with charging or is it a battery capacity restriction? Hows the headroom in the cabin of an X? In my 19 I have to sit and I still feel like a giant. My rack in the Navy felt luxurious compared to the 19!

Re: Got it up, now what?

I figured out the mainsheet setup but this brings up a new question and revealed the need to install a topping lift. If I use a boom vang do I need to also use the mainsheet block or can I just remove it and use just the boom vang with the lines run all the way back thru the cockpit? For now we'll j...

Got it up, now what?

We've owned Dukling :mac19: just over 2 years now and have never sailed her, only power. Today I sorted out the shrouds, stays and halyards and used the mast raising system to get it up. Only took me 45 minutes on my first try. I feel good about that and with practice hope to cut that in half. Now t...

Re: What are the odds?

Full wallets?! if my :mac19: isn't demanding money, the wife and daughters are. Oh and the Chris Craft is gonna bankrupt me! Mac owners can spot each other in a crowd. Look for - big smiles on their faces - well tanned from actually being out enjoying the water - sense of peace that comes from havin...

Re: Catamaran from 2 ea 26s or d's?

Hmm... thats almost as good an idea as mine. I wanna take a 4 jon boats and make a big tunnel hull out of them. Weld two bow to stern and then join the two halves together with a deck and cabin structure.

no plane, bow high

Why? Because the combined weight of my Mercury and myself is 500#'s :o and the :mac19: has a flat transom and I forgot to install the wedges to compensate for the flat transom :x Figured this all out this morning when I went out to adjust the motor on the jackplate. Highlander - Did you set your cav...

Re: Steering alternatives for my 19?

My hatch has been off for two years. I rebuilt it but still need to gel coat it. I like the crutch idea and am leaning towards a pop-top mod.

Re: Almost ready

Thanks! I tried to follow the hull lines and keep it neat. The Admiral is happy so I'm happy and she picked out the red. I wanted blue. If the weather cooperates we will be on the water all weekend!
