Blowing down the ballast
Hi All, I’ve been searching the forum and found some comments on “blowing down the ballast” when back at the boat ramp and before recovering the boat onto the trailer. I want to have the ballast in while manoeuvring around the marina and up to the pontoon but then want the ballast out to aid in reco...

Moreton Bay sail this weekend
Hi Brisbane Mac owners, We will be heading out from Scarborough this weekend. Anyone else going to be heading out in the area? I haven’t decided on the overnight location yet (Tangalooma depending on weather). Always keen to hear good anchoring location suggestions as we haven’t spent many nights on...

Re: Lady Musgrave Island trip report
Wonderful trip report on what sounds like an amazing trip. Definitely one for the future for us (we need to do a few more sea miles first).
Love the photo too - Saw it on Facebook as well.

Re: Future Concerns.
Hi Ray, Sounds like a great plan. There seems to be quite a few active Mac owner/members based in and around Brisbane, Queensland (Just down the road from the Sunshine Coast). When the time gets closer it would be good if we could arrange a get together in a central spot (Scarborough or Wynnum?) for...

Oval Macgregor stickers in Aus
Hi All, I’m after some replacement stickers for the oval Macgregor stickers on the side of the boat. I went to buy the ones off Bluewater yachts but the postage and handeling was significantly more than the stickers cost so wasn’t really worth it (and I didn’t have enough other stuff to buy to justi...

Re: Prospective Macgregor owner in Brisbane
Hi All, We we finally got out on our new boat recently and it went fantastic - A great sail and a happy family so WIN. A few little things I want to do before next trip, such as get a mattress topper for the main berth but we are all looking forward to our next trip. http://i50.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Bow Eye Safety Chain
I’ve added my safety chain, with Galv turn buckle, to that round support bar just off the winch post with a tight fitting D shackle. The safety chain keeps even pressure on the bow and stops it from working loose. You may see I’ve swapped my ladder to the other side to allow a new standard winch to ...

So with a bit of luck, attached below will be a photo of our new :macm: I’ve been doing quite a few jobs to her and I will post some of the end results up soon. Re: Prospective Macgregor owner in Brisbane
Hi Dennis,
That would be great. Saturday or Sunday would be awesome.
I’m looking at a couple of Mac’s at the moment so may even have one soon, but I’m still keen to come for a sail and “learn the ropes” so to speak.
I will PM you my mobile number etc.
Thanks and regards,
Chris

Re: Prospective Macgregor owner in Brisbane
Hi Cestlavie, That info is gold, I have saved it to my phone, Thanks. I hadn’t realised there was the 2 different galley styles in the :macm: until last week when I saw one for sale in Sydney with the fixed layout (casting the net wide for the right one). As you say, both have their advantages/disad...
