Re: ‘Mad’ Englishman Update: Crossing the Atlantic in a three footer Sailboat
Hi All Thanks Russ for the additional link info.👍 I don’t don’t that the limited budget and trans-Atlantic transport to the starting point in Canada may have damaged the boat. Like any vessel inexperienced man handlers in shipping have damaged many a boat and project. The “Me big strong moron can ab...

Solo Mac26 ($2k) Crossing from Florida to Bahamas
Hi All Interesting video of a character who bought a Mac26M, bought a used engine and converted it to Trawler Mode Configuration all for about $2000 bucks then crossed over from Florida to the Bahamas alone! (Seems some folks will do almost anything to leave Florida lately :D :D…) https://m.youtube....

Hi Hart & JimyT!
Glad you both are doing better!

Health issues are a pain
🫣 … especially when it gets in the way of playing with our boats
!!!
Nice set of mods Hart!
Hope you both have a great 2023 season.

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023
Hi All! Hope everyone is doing well! This weekend has been really 🥶 and 🌬️ and 🌧️ with lots of 🌊 ! Temps down in the 50s-to-60s! Brrr….One would think of it akin to a New England Nor’Easter!🫣 So not much of a chance to get out on the water this weekend.🙄 While rummaging through the garage trying to ...

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023
Hi Russ! The transducer issues are temporarily resolved by screwing a smaller Garmin system onto Over Easy that we robbed from Scrambled (our little runabout) with the transducer mounted to the ballast stern fill/drain valve. Aside from the reduced screen size it’s been a good bandaid 🩹 so far provi...

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023
Hi All! We just came back from another nice day cruise on our local estuaries today.😎😎🐩 Enjoyed the great warm weather today even though there was a high overcast. We went north hoping to make a trial run to the Edisto Island cut but turned back as there were some significant swells. (There have bee...

Re: Keel for motoring
Hi Ris! Wondering if you might give an update 4-5 years on regarding your Skeg mod, handling, experiences? We’ve been using Over Easy as a trawler and have successfully using a partially deployed swing keel on our Mac26X as a Skeg. It has really improved our low speed (6 knots or 7 mph) travels. We ...

Re: trailering
Hi vkmaynard and MARCH! Really like the guides and pads you have each created! Nice! We have a dual axle SeaLion trailer with 4 side guide posts that have helped a lot with our light crosswind departures and arrivals to the trailer. We add a guide rope from the rear posts along the sides to the trai...

Re: Bilge pump
🤔🤔hmmm🤔🤔 bilge pumps…. Yeah there have been a couple of posts on the topic a time or two… There are several valid thoughts on the various approaches and rationale pro and con. Technically the Mac26X and Mac26M are self floating boats when swamped, at least barebones from the factory without rigging,...

Re: Sloppy Steering (video)
Hi Drifter! Before you add any skegs might it be suggested you try an alternate approach of sort? Are you experiencing your sloppy steering issue when under sail or when motoring? Our very nice P.O. replaced the cable steering assembly yet we noticed the handling issue too when motoring . So it wasn...
