Re: Collapsible Water Jug - Draw Tube

Ended up popping off the white spigot off the cap and drilled the cap carefully with a 5/8" bit so I could insert a hose down to the base of the jug. Combining this with doing the "Thrifty 26S" $14 fresh water refill system so I can just leave the jug there until the end of the season.

Re: Collapsible Water Jug - Draw Tube

That's what I thought I'd hear. I found one place that seems to have a modded cap with a draw tube but they don't sell them separately (from the jug). I'll just be using it for overnighters, etc so I'll deal with it for now and mark it as a project for later.

Thanks,

Ken

Collapsible Water Jug - Draw Tube

Has anyone modified their collapsible water jug to incorporate a draw tube inside the jug? I've seen mods for the larger hardbody containers but not for the ones provided with the 26c's. How about finding a compatible replacment cap that a draw tube could be added?

Thanks,

Ken

'94 MacGregor 26s Mast Cap Removal, etc

Will be needing to remove the mast cap from my '94 26s to add a windex as well as an anchor/steaming light in the future. How is the mast cap removed - do I need to drill out rivets? Also, will be need to run electrical and antenna wires up the mast. The boat has never had lights on the mast. Where ...

Re: Removing velco adhesive, tips?

Used warm water/vinegar with a dash of Dawn to do a general cleaning on the cushions Then started with Goo Gone on the hard to remove areas. Slow and sure I was able to remove the tree sap from the cockpit cushions. Unfortunately, I found the zipper sliders were corroded away. That'll have to be a p...

Re: Removing velco adhesive, tips?

How about the leftover adhesive on the back of the cushions? Have a full set of original cushions in really good condition and don't want to damage the vinyl backs.

Re: Removing velco adhesive, tips?

I would NOT use a razor blade on the fiberglass as you'll risk cutting or chipping the gel coat. Instead, if you need to scrape it, get yourself some plastic razor blades (like these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076BBW1WM ). Yup, those plastic razor blades have been a big help. Further, you should s...

Re: Removing velco adhesive, tips?

Yeah, the interior gelcoat. The velcro that was attached to the interior walls (and the cushions themselves) no longer stuck to the adhesive (same around the access panels). In some spots it looks like adhesive just dripped down the walls. Going to try cutting a piece of paper towel, liberally apply...

Removing velco adhesive, tips?

Doing a deep clean on my '95 26s, with all the cushions/access panels out of the way, the old adhesive backing for the velco is an eyesore on the fiberglass. Any recommended products/procedures to remove as much of the old adhesive from the fiberglass without damaging it? I'll be putting down new ve...

Re: Wiring Boat - Best place to get diagrams?

Thanks, grabbing images online, pasting them into LibreDraw, and adding connectors will need to do.

Wiring Boat - Best place to get diagrams?

Starting to rewire my boat and try to bring sanity to the mess within. Looking to diagram the wiring, what software/where can I get vector diagrams of equipment/electronic parts such as the part/panels seen in https://i.postimg.cc/BjHrB8RL/5n4l6Dl.jpg and https://i.postimg.cc/B83dYSGh/82410-92287d5b...

Plastic T-Molding - Best way to deal with it?

Hi, Working on refurbishing a '91 26S. The t-molding around some of the wood trim has pulled away and is extremely difficult to put back in place (and once I do so it comes back out again. How are others dealing with this issue? Is there way to get the t-molding back in place or just remove the trim...
