I had to modify the back deck...as I had a honda 50. It required a little modification...but the plans were a great start. I used pine and stained it white instead of using teak.

Goodbye

Well I haven't been around much...lately...as we decided to sell the boat last year. We enjoyed our 97Mac, but it just took up too much time. We had her since 2001 (previous nickname was tscorbitt). I really enjoyed this site...did a great mod to include the back deck over the steering controls and ...

yes. It is hr foam. Cuts great with an electric knife. The cover is made of heavy canvas like material and has polyfill lining. I actually bought the single mattress too. They sell lesser quality for less money. This one is about 6 inches thick.

Foam for cushion

I got foam for my v-berth from www.foamsweetfoam.com on a tip from these boards. I am currently renovating a 1962 camper and needed foam. I found a better place. www.Ikea.com. They sell foam mattresses...of all quality. Ended up being cheaper than just buying foam and I am able to reuse the cover. T...

I was told the same issue about gas and hondas. We had similar problem, but also had to adjust the idle. There is a screw that adjust the idle which made a world of difference. I was also told to never let the gas sit too long, as it gets gummy.

what is worst.... if I need work, I need to trailer my boat about 1.5 hours to the closest Honda dealer/mechanic... and I live in NYC Metro! My engine is stalling out.....won't idle below 1000rpm. I am going to change everything over, try running some gas through with gunk out...and hopefully the je...

Honda 50hp and Fuel Issues

Having trouble with our honda 50 and called the dealer. They said in the last few years that all the gas additives turn the gas to jelly real fast gumming up the engine. Their recommendation is to put fuel additive in the tanks year round. Probably worth the few dollars...

"By the way, I announce it as a Securite on the VHF when I do it, and report my approximate position in the river, and the expected duration of my POB drills. I do this since you cant see if there are freighters coming down the river and they are fast!!" :o Yes they are.... I had to crank ...

Ours is $62/lf for April thru October. We are located about 35 miles north of Manhattan on the Hudson River. Our marina is the cheapest around...about 15-20 bucks less a lf than others.

Cleaning Canvas Question

I have the Dowsar full enclosure (light grey sunbrella) and this summer we have gotten a lot of black soot looking streaks. We took off the canvans and scrubbed it lightly with a soft brush and enviro friendly soap. Soiling remains. Any ideas of how to clean and what to put back on to protect it?

Good they were open quickly...nice they are free this year for recreational users.

The Hudson has been really muddy and lots of debris floating down from up north. We aren't motoring much due to the cost of gas anyway...

I would go to the paint company website and see what they recommend. My paint is rated for so many months in the water. Also my primer is a diffrent color so when I see that coming through... it is time to paint. I had to touch up my waterline this year.

My dogs are large and the biggest problem is that they seem to sprawl out in the cockpit. I have never had a problem with either of them trying to jump out. My younger hound has jumped off the dingy though... and then panicks to come right back in. I have a 97 and I made a much bigger step to get in...
