Re: Does this 19 seem like a good deal?
Well, as a former
owner and upgrader I'd say it will take a couple grand on top of the purchase price to get her back to top shape. Pics don't show the mast, boom, etc. good chance the standing rigging might need work. All doable but takes $s.

Re: Looking for recommendations...
Thanks. I bought my first Mac :mac19: over in Edgewater, MD. There were/are a good number of Macs over there. I believe that there was a Mac dealer (A-1 Sailboats) in Edgewater/Mayo that contributed to the cluster of boats in the area. Hopefully someone over in that area will have had a positive exp...

Looking for recommendations...
Starting the road back to sailing again after about four years away. Just got the boat cleaned up and cleaned out but now she needs a good technical going through, outboard, instruments, electronics, some upgrades and installations. Anyone able to recommend a Mac-friendly boat yard in the D.C./Annap...

I still have my
boat at Leesylvania... haven't had the cover off in a couple of years as life happens. I may try to get her out and shined back up later this summer.

Re: Mac 19 powersailer--never heard of it
Yeah, I had one for quite a while... wish I still had it. Most of the Mac 19 Mods in the Mod section are mine. She went to a good home in MD. I used her way more that I use the 26X I replaced her with. I need to fix that.

I need to get some Spring commissioning items addressed (general electical systems, outboard (Honda BF50) and a few other upgrades/issues). Anyone in the NoVA, DC, MD area able to recommend a marina that is familiar with Macs and does good work? Thanks.

Re: Model 19 valve repair
Not hard at all... I did mine on my old :mac19: , removed the gate valve, go to any RV or Camping World and match it to the same model used for RV black/grey water tanks. It unscrewed if I remember correctly then cleaned off the old 4200 sealant, mounted the replacement and reseated around the edges...

Sailed/motored there a few years ago when I still had my

I've got mine
stored at Leesylvania SP in Woodbridge. I haven't had in the water for a while due to family medical issues.

Re: '96 26X Questions and advice.
There are plenty of Macs around Casa Rio marina in Edgewater... Capt'n Al used to sell Macs over there. We bought our first Mac, a 19 power sailor from Grab bag boats. Price seems low but the market may just be that soft. Guess I'll hold on to our X boat awhile longer... Located in northern VA and k...

Re: Washington DC Macgregor Sailors
I'm game... we store and trailer sail :macx: out of Leesylvania SP in Woodbridge. Great place to launch and sail with wide water once you get used to the crab pot floats and bass anglers :) :? :x  They run a nice little sailing school with rentals as well. http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_par...

Re: Replace centerboard rope. help
Just did mine on my '02 :macx: .. 15 minute job. Used 1/4" AMSTEEL from these folks http://www.customsplice.com/home.php and 4200 to seal everything back up. Was cheap, 16' for $27 shipped. Same thing they use for winches. Used the old rope to pull the new one through then tied the same knot of...
