Mac 26X Repower to New 90 HP Suzuki 4-Stroke
Time to repower our 2000 26X :macx: with a 90 HP Suzuki 4 stroke fuel injected outboard. We've owned our Mac for 14 years now. Shown is the original 2000 Merc 50 HP 4 stroke engine which is a "Big Foot" Merc meaning a 20 inch shaft. The Suzuki 90 HP has a 20 inch shaft. One reason for the ...

Re: Thanks to the Members....
After all these years (about 14 years), my Wind of Freedom account is still active. I'm very thankful.

Re: easier pin'ing of the furler forestay (26X)
@133bhp: I don't understand, if this is about re-pinning the forestay on the water, then why do you mention the "bow roller" in your original post? The only bow roller I know of is on the trailer? Please enlighten me ... you got me curious ... LOL.

Re: Stern rail seats for an X
I have a 2000 26X and would really like aft rail seats. I'm an engineer and do regular 3D CAD drawings - setting up a jig doesn't sound too bad.

Mark, Love Macs & Everyone - I again, want to thank this website for all the support and inspiration. We wanted to share our experiences, over the last 2 years, with the wonderful people on this site. When we first got our Mac, my wife and I said ... Wow, can we do this with 4 children ... dedic...

Re: Picture Contest
Back in 2007, we were getting prepared to buy our first MacGregor - a 2000 26X. Everyone on this site was a huge help in making that decision. With a young family of 4 now, it was a lot of challenges and work for my wife and I to get it out and make it happen. We are so thankful for the inspiration ...

All - sitting here contemplating this morning ... working on the logistics. Great idea to monitor VHF 72. What about posting some cell phone numbers?

Re: Who is the priviledged owner of this Mac-X ?
Cool thanks - actually looks a lot like my 2000 26X, but I know it's not ... I'm in South Florida (Jupiter). I'd like to move to Pensacola someday, but I just have a hard time thinking about moving away from the Atlantic to the Gulf waters.

Re: Legroom in X head
ALX357 - By what you discribe on your earlier post, YES, your porta-potti seems to be much larger then the one I have in my 26X (2000). I am 5'11" and 245 Lbs., but I can stand up (being somewhat bent over) and can use both my hands. By what you discribe, that sounds very difficult and troubles...

Re: Anybody know of any unhappy Mac owners?
Hey ... we've owned our 2000 26X for 2 years now (the "Good News"). The more we get to know her ... the more we love her! There is one thing about the Mac trailerable sailboat that is important to know ... they are NOT a trailerable "day sailor" meaning you probably won't trailer...

craiglaforce - Ok, thanks so much for solving the mystery! Yes, that is exactly what they are! We just didn't get the little "U" frame for the back so I will have to try and find it or make them. I seem to remember the person I bought the boat from stated they were "hiking out" s...

Mac seat - where/how does it go?
We got two of these seats with our Mac 26X when we bought it 2 years ago, but haven't used them. We are unsure of how to use them or where they go ... obviously they are supposed to strap on somewhere ?? :? Anyone have these and can fill us in? Thanks! Re: Mac Get-Together Jacksonville, FL 5-6 Sept
Jim: Ok, thanks. If we come, we will try to make Friday. I just talked with the wife ... sounds like it is a possibility. It would be myself, Doug, and probably my daughter, Megan (11) and son, Levi (9). My wife and our youngest 2 children will spend the weekend with my wife's parents in Orlando. So...
